"I greet you, Itharanvan Gloridenralus," the man says. "Bitter Ashes be my name." He glances at the others expectantly. "I have not that be of help with picking the lock, but I may be able to dissolve it, tho' t'would be risky, p'raps painful in this wee space." He looks at the chain, (is it attached to the waggon, or loose?)

The aasimar looks up, shoulders still slumped, "Yeah, sure. my name is Asharael Denari. Asha if you prefer." He whispers "I can cast a spell that can hurt people at range, if we can get a clear opportunity to. If anyone here has any fleece, I also can make things or sounds appear that aren't there." Asha's stomach grumbles again, and he holds his stomach.

Bitter Ashes smiles grimly, "Aye we be in 'this as one, be sure o' that. How are each o' ye? Injured-wise that'd be? Kin ye move on yer own?" He looks at the food, "I'd no be trustin' that slop t' no be poisoned." (How thick is the trencher the food is on?)
"When we be out o' this thing some will need t' be ready if there be guards inside." He holds up his fists. "If there no be guards, some'll 'ave to watch at the door, case any return to check on us; others need t' scrounge fer useful things, tools, weapons, containers, mayhaps feed o' some sort. Think not a thing useless ye kinna carry it yerself."

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
The halfing chimes in with his somber tone to say "I'm nobody, but if it helps you all...." He pulls a broken piece of metal that could be used as a dagger amongst other things out of the rolled cuff of his pants and then holds his palm upward and a flame appears in his hand. All the while the halfing keeps his gaze low to the floor.
"My name is Leshanna." The elf maid informs the group. "I can get myself out of this cage no problem, but I do not see any reason to do so until we can all get out. If there is something I can do from the outside, then just know I can get out of here and work from outside the cage."
Seeing the halfling bring out the metal shard, Mordyn holds his breath. “I have this thing.” He takes out a stone with an intricate carving on it. “Some kind of rune, but not one I’m familiar with. Anyone else have something we can use to fight? I could certainly use that,” he says, pointing to the piece of metal in the halfling’s hand. “If we’re going to die, we can at least make it hard for them.
"You're probably right about the food. They wouldn't just give us anything that easily." Asha carefully unweaves a shard of metal wrapped with a scrap of leather from inside his matted hair. "I don't need this right now, either. I'm sure that someone else can make great use of this."

Asha takes a look at the rune (Understands Celestial and Infernal).
Arcana helps but the rune is a cipher for a divine spell. If anyone of you can cast those you can use the rune.
On a side note you all know, some of you because you have hidden your powers for a long time, that Husks ( but not all) and some others creatures in the dark one's service can smell spells being cast. The more powerful the spell the wider the range of detection.
“I think we need t’ get moving,” Bitter Ashes says. “I can try t’ dissolve th’ chain, maybe some consequences. A back-splash kin cause acid burns; could just Make a mess.” He holds up the thin trencher, dumping the slop in a corner. “This’ll help a wee bit t’ keep doon th’ splashin’.” He looks each of his fellow prisoners in the eye and asks them, “d’ ye agree or no?”
If everyone is in agreement, Then Bitter Ashes will have one of the others hold the trencher as close to the gap between the edge of the door and the frame of the waggon, have the others move as far back as possible and cast Acid Splash. Rather than ‘hurling’ it he will try and ‘plop’ it onto the chain.
Leshanna looks at the sharp bit of metal taken from one of the group's hair. "I can use that if no one else needs it..." She says, nodding to the item. "If I use my ability to get out of here, the husk might detect it, so we should be ready, with a plan, before I do it."
Asharael gives Leshanna the metal shard. "I, for one, am more of a fan of the acid. It shows the best chance for us all to get out of here. If you step out of here, and can't get the door open before any guards come, sniffing out the spell. How would you open the chain once you get out?"

Mordyn shakes his head. “If they know when a spell is cast, subtlety is not an option. You might as well break the chain.” He points to the piece of metal in Leshanna’s hand. “Maybe that will help.”
“Cantrips can be used with little chance of detection,” Bitter Ashes says. “One would need to cast right next to magic sensing creatures for them to be noticed. The cantrips that have just been used were not detected.”
The young halfling looks at the rune for a second and forgets his somber mood temporarily. "Wow, this is great. I think I might just be able to activate this if I study it a bit longer!"
(I believe Druids are considered divine casters in 5e so per the DM apparently the halfling could use it?)

(OOC: what is the metal piece equivalent to? I was thinking it was a dagger...)
