"This is why I said we need to come up with a plan." Leshanna tells the others. "I have no idea how to open that lock. If someone wants to try to break it, then I could move over next to the door, after getting out of this wagon, and ambush anyone coming to check out the noise."
The halfling seems to have forgotten his previous mood for a time as he nods at Mordyn and smiles just a little, then takes the rune stone and starts studying it intently in his lap. He looks at the run, the injured elf he already healed and back at the rune and whispers to himself "I could still help people". It may be as much a question as a statement, but even he is not sure.
Mordyn looks around at the people trapped in with him, quickly scanning each one’s capabilities before shifting his gaze to someone else. “Does anyone know a spell that does not require materials? Something that will not cause an explosion, but could still destroy. Maybe we can blow the chain and lock off from the inside.” He peers out through the hole again. “Once we get out of here, there’s no going back. We either use subtlety or full force. I am personally leaning toward the latter. Cracking heads together is kind of my specialty.”
"As I said," Bitter Ashes replies, "I can drench it with acid, that spell makes no noise and has never been detected by these things that have us captive before. If nothing else, the acid will weaken the chain to the point that perhaps a minor effort will break it."
Mordyn looks around once more at everyone around him. “Before we go out there, I feel the need to ask: does anyone believe they might be a liability out there? I’m sure we all received various degrees of beatings and starvation.”
Asharael backs as far away from the lock as he can without stepping on others. "I have been starved for several days, I should still be able to fight, but I need food soon. Also, I can try to blast through the door, but I think it will make too much noise. I can try that if that acid doesn't work for some reason.
(Asharael has one level of exhaustion).

When Mordyn asks his question the halfling’s mood swiftly returns and he holds his head low, no longer willing to look at Mordyn. He does move away from the door, however, his small size being less of an offense to others as he shifts about.
“I am not saying anyone should be left behind. I am saying that anyone who thinks they suffered too much to fight well needs to come out now, so that the rest of us can take that extra step towards keeping them alive.”
Bitter Ashes will push the door open enough to grab the chain and pull it in slightly, pinning it between the door and the waggon frame. Taking a breath he will focus on the bit of chain pinched in that space and cast Acid Splash on it, single-mindedly imagining that the acid just drips from his hand, rather than splashing.

The acid send an accrid smell in the cart and a small hissing sound can be heard as the substance does its job. In seconds the chain breaks in half. It clattered to the ground, the noise though dulled by the hay on the floor, sends tense looks through the companions.
The doors swing open.
You find yourselves in a big barn with two mangy looking horses to the far left. Both are black and eating lazily. They haven't even bothered to acknowledge your newfound freedom.
To the right there is a single door. It doesn't seem locked but it is closed. Moonlight baths the barn in a soft blue glow.

Leshanna moves out of the wagon and over next to the door, prepared to ambush anyone who comes inside if needed. She lets the others do a quick search of the barn.
“The two horses will not be able to hold up all our weights. Riding away with them means most of us would be left behind. We could use them as a distraction though. Perhaps if the guards enter and the horses charge at them.” He looks back at the messed up door. “Maybe we should put the door back in its place. If this is the first thing they see...”
"Weapons, tools, food, anythin' th' kin be used," Bitter Ashes whispers. "We're near nak'd." With that he will scrounge. "Mordyn, can ye use t' chain fer a weapon?"

((That’s what Rust said. I added a dagger to my equipment and renamed it “Metal Shard”))
Mordyn will hand the rune to the halfling. “Do what you can. It’s of no use to me.”

He again looks at everyone, "So, should I try?"

Mordyn shifts away from the door. “I assume your acid will need some space.”
"I think acid is a very good idea." Leshanna says. "Go for it."

As Ruby backs away from the lock, he glances at Mordyn. "You're not suggesting we leave someone behind, are you?"

Mordyn will also look around.
Perception: 4 ((Third nat20 so far. Jeez.))
Mordyn whispers to everyone, “Be ready to fight. They could come in even if they do not hear us.”
