"I agree, stay beside me as to not inflict the zone on ourselves. Im not sure what we would reveal." Staying atleast 15 feet from the bandits, taking a wide stance and folding his arms looking stern as possible.
"Who exactly are you, what is your creed? Also, what are the rumors surrounding the missing prince?"
W-w-well this is James and I and Davner. We call ourselves the Half Moon Order.... just some low level stuff we need to do to scrape money by, you know. Fightin’ and intimidating folks.
The story of the prince, is he murdered his twin brother. Threw him off the tower in their castle. Been on the run from his father ever since.
As the group is questioning the tied up bandits. The noises of mechanical whirring begin to start up, as the warforged unit begins to come out of its stasis.
You hear a creaking, clanking sound of metal on metal coming from the direction of the carriage.
As you turn to look, you see the figure which had been motionless in the driver’s seat of the carriage walking towards you. At first it gives the impression of an armored man, but as you look closer, you see it is an artificial being, one of the Warforged. It’s body is remarkably human in shape and proportion, but its face is nearly featureless, being a smooth, reflective surface. It has an enormous spear in its hands that you don’t recall being in the cart, but then this experience hasn’t been filled with clarity of mind and senses.
In a somewhat stilted, vibrating voice coming from its head: “I heard you talking. Is everything alright? May I be of assistance?”
Lady flinched at the movement and sound and then watches as the warforge came to life. "Assistance?" asked Lady. "Yes, come over here and lend your presence "
Turning to the bandits she asks, "And what can you tell us of our friend here."
Murdered my brother. How ... why would i have done that .. Silas' mind starts to spin as he contemplates these thougts, but he know he needs to stay on track with these bandits, get as much info as they can.
How many crew in the half moon order? What was the bounty announced for the prince? What are the feelings of the public about the royal family? How long has the prince been missing? He looks to the captain "do you have any thoughts on the royals?"
He hears the sounds of metal moving and turns to look at the creature moving to them. Nodding in agreement to Piper
Shadow watches the little dragon run off, and all of a sudden the Warforged wakes up. Shadow had discovered something important. He did not like surprises, and another member of this group was a big one. Taking the Warforged by the shoulder, Shadow led him away, telling the others while glancing at the bandits,
”I just need to talk with... Forge here for a second. Continue with the talks.”
After leading them away, Shadow looks at the Warforged, taking them in, trying to think of how to say this to a sentient machine.
”Would you happen to know me? Or that dwarf? Or that human? Do you know who you are, why we’re here? Do you remember anything from before you powered on? Do you know what the Crimson Pride is?”
At this point Shadow is just trying to get any answer that could help out of this machine.
“I know I am the driver,” the Warforged says in that same stilted buzzing tone. “I know because I was in the carriage driver’s seat. And while I know many things, I’m not sure I know the things you’d like answers about. I’m sorry.”
(DM: I don’t know anything about the others or the Crimson Pride, right? Would I know anything about the prince brothers either?)
“No problem, we’ll call you Driver for now until we can learn what you were called before.”
Hearing the bandits getting bolder, Shadow decided to stop that in its tracks before one of his companions let it slip that they couldn’t remember anything. Walking back towards them quickly, he draws a sword and points it at the bandits.
”Why are you asking questions? That is not what is happening right now. Right now, I believe you were begging us to let you live, even offering your haul over the past week. Now we could be nice and let you have enough money to pay for some medical attention, but that all depends on how you act doesn’t it? Now which would you prefer? Life and a little coin for treatment, or an audience with the Raven Queen?”
(Intimidation if needed, assuming with advantage because of well, this whole scenario in general) 20
"Answer my questions or not, but like he said..." he nods to Shadow "What is your preference? If you would like to leave here with your lives and some coin to take care of yourselves, I would think that you could forget our little encounter here. Or there may be consequences for your actions." He raises an eyebrow *as if to say I don't care if you live or die* and tips his head toward the captain "what say you?"

Bandit Captain hangs his head for a moment before looking up and squinting his eye to block the sun. The blood and sweat running down his brow. “It was awful, our hunting party was stalked and caught off guard by some dire wolves. We were lucky that the beasts got their fill by the time they got to us and lost interest. We ran for town as quick as we could, forgetting about our stuff behind.” He nods to a tree off behind him. A rope can be seen, now that you’re looking for it - presumably their stuff and *earnings.
Driver believes that rope to be secured to a bag that’s hanging up in the tree. Not trapped. Opening up he finds the equivalent to 250 gold pieces and a large diamond.
Driver slings the bag over his shoulder, and goes to stand with Shadow. “Sir, I believe we have their haul.” He pauses for a few moments. “It would seem a disguise may be required if we wish to learn more. A physical disguise and a contextual disguise. If we are known as vicious killers, we should arrive as civil servants. We could kill the bandits and the dire wolves.” He then nods and retreats a step in deference. “This is only one possibility at your disposal.”

Taking 10 gold from the bag, Shadow walks up to the bandits, looking each one in the eye. He shows them the gold as he sets it on the ground, and asks them a question.
”Here you go boys, gold for your injuries. Now, when you get treated, what will you say about how you got them? I hope you won’t tell anyone about us right? Right?”

Silas hangs back with his arms crossed. He thinks to himself "Maybe I was too forceful with the questioning, I should work on that. I will watch and learn from the Dragonborn... he is the known leader for a reason." Even with that thought of trust... "Hopefully, this extension of kindness doesn't come back to bite us down the road."
With the mention of Dire Wolves, Silas would like to survey the area again, the tree line in front of them, the road to see if anyone is starting to travel and noticing them. Perception Check - 20
Silas looks around - doesn’t see anyone traveling close by and is confident that there isn’t really any traffic towards the horizons.
The Captain repeats the story about the wolves, showing that he can tell it the same countless times. Shadow gleans from his words that this may not be the first time he’s been coerced by stronger and more powerful gangs. While he doesn’t suspect that he would willingly start telling the true story, he is certain there is no guarantee he wouldn’t give up the true identity was applied.

(Correct, I would say you know the identity of Silas, even though you weren’t technically awake for the revelation.)
The bandits reply to the question. “We don’t know what that thing is, all we know are from the stories from the drunks in the bar! Honest.”
The Captain speaks up, “What in sam hell’s is going on here? Why so many questions on who you are?”
“No problem, we’ll call you Driver for now until we can learn what you were called before.”

All three bandits immediately clam back up and look down. Not wanting to provoke any more extra attention.
