Welcome all, you managed to get yourelf employed at GSC, llc. Congratulations!
I have some informations on how i imagined this game to function. As it is a company, there are finances and assignements to be taken care of. For that i would create a trello board and google sheet for those things respectfully. It is simply to keep an eye on the situation as the company's funds is essentially 'yours' you can use freely. But there are still taxes that have to be payed, so it will more or less just be some additions and subtractions and figuring out if you have cash for the next taxes. The trello, i will only make if all of you are fine with that, as it requires an account (its free) and i will absolutly accept if any of you dont accept that. I just think it would give the game some more 'profesionalism'. In addition to that, i will create a document with some world information and a city map and maybe other things that could be usefull. All those things will be linked in the campaign description.
Some of the options will certainly be different e.g. region of birth, but the idea that we get additional skills/flaws/properties due to our previous history really resonates with me. What do you think?
I see we got ourselves a documancer. If it's alright with everyone, I am currently leaning towards cartographer because Mel knows his way around. After checking all positions, obviator would also be a possibility for Mel.
Run't would probably be an occultant. Has a bit of a fetish for the smell (and possibly feel if nobody is seeing) of corpses. Something about how it smells different along the length of his trunk (he's a Loxodon).
Otherwise he's the courier type - pick something up, turn into a horse or something and walk / or get ridden to a destination. Later on swimming and flying becomes an option.
If we play for longer, Mel would probably go mobile feat and shadow monk/gloomstalker ranger. You know those situations when you feel something bad will happen and then it does and you're like: "Oh, noes!"...Mel got the stuff he needed and is already half on his way home by then :)
Hi Xozer, I think we read the same blogs. I just thought Aarakocra would be overkill and doesn't suit in every setting. I also wanted a Bruce Lee kind of martial arts vibe. Welcome to the firm.
Howdy folks. How is everyone? I'm fine with the trello board. Already have an account there as I've used it for several projects.
I haven't chosen a role from AI yet because Xozer has an odd backstory being an Aarakocra. I'm also not sure if there's anything I can grab from the Heroic Chronicles but if someone has that content and sharing is turned on for the campaign I'm happy to have a look! (Also I only have AI in hard copy, not on here)
You can check out the backstory on my sheet but I'm going for the fast silent delivery bird for those items that need to be delivered discretely and/or quickly (fly 60')
She is also a monk but I won't be multiclassing. I'll likely grab the Hex feat when the time comes though for the extra damage.
Helga's backstory is that she sued her way into a job at Galder's (plaintiff background). She claims to have been injured in "the owlbear incident," which Galder's disputes. Per the settlement agreement, Helga is forbidden from discussing the incident. However, she follows the letter of the law, not its intent, so "mentioning" is different than "discussing" in her mind.
She's not going to be the fastest party member, but she's all about boosting team synergy and efficiency (read buffing) to get the job done. She's also going to make sure that all of the contracts benefit GSC and not the client.

Thanks! I'm not sure what you mean about the blog though? I worked my character from deciding if I was making deliveries I'd want to be fast. Considered Tabaxi but then liked the idea of the kind of reluctant participant that Aarakocra gave me for a background. Then decided that I wanted her to be as natural as possible in terms of equipment, so Monk seemed the logical choice. If there's a blog out there that echoes my build that's kind of funny. I was just following what seemed a logical progression for me.
I had considered putting into her background about the person that tricked her into listening to the proposal strongly implied that it would give her a chance to travel to places where she may find gargoyles. But I decided that was overstepping a bit into DM territory, But DM.... if there is a chance she'd be able to find gargoyles somewhere.... :) lol
I have now added a google sheet for the finances. I do not work in accounting and it shows. So if anyone of you has experiences with finances, please forgive me. I will open both documents for editing so you can alter them if you wish. Please use them for their intended purpose. Also i will edit the 'Guide to Pley' if needed.
You can choose your position for Galders freely. We do have a documancer and probably a cartographer if i remember correctly.
Additional informations for the structure of the game: As you saw in the trello, there are labels for each player and for the team. There will be multiple smaller deliverys that can be done by one employee and contracts that will require the entire group. The small deliverys will be played out using direct messages (if that is ok for you) and keep the playing thread for the big deliverys. I will add multiple small deliverys that you can accept by adding your label. In the trello cards i will note the customer, urgency, reward and other usefull informations. The first contracts will be up once i get the city map done.
DM, if it's OK with you I'd like to change my character. I think Melais and I are just too similar. Something that seems would fit well is a Bard Loremonger. So with your OK I'll make that up. I have a lot of experience with bards so it's a pretty natural role for me.

Olloray Dim - Limbo's Pit
Gunther Korroden - Nightmares in the Mist
Sounds good!
Sounds great! I'm excited about the campaign!
It will most likely start in about a day, probably a few hours earlyer. There are still some things to prepare. thanks for the patience!
Olloray Dim - Limbo's Pit
Gunther Korroden - Nightmares in the Mist
Sounds good. Sent request for Google docs.
I would love it if we could spice up our characters' backgrounds a bit: https://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/783-heroic-chronicle-sword-coast-and-the-north

I haven’t played around with the heroic chronicle at all, but I’d be willing to give it a shot.
Helga is obsessed with records and order, so of course she’s a documancer. All of the jobs are pretty fun.
I'm going for the speedy in gsc. As a monk I can't get wind walk unfortunately, so I am looking forward to some crazy homebrew at some point.

Olloray Dim - Limbo's Pit
Gunther Korroden - Nightmares in the Mist
All of this sounds good to me. The only issue I'm having is that I can't access the Google Doc and Sheet.
I changed the link before, it should work. I‘ll look into it (tbh i dont have much experience with google docs and such)
