"That's exactly what we thought at first," Caedmon says to Jayne. "Nothing in particular happens during the scream itself, it just feels sort of like a curse, y'know?"
"are there people that, dont know how i should put it, want this village to 'not exist' or be abandoned? Besides the tower, i mean. Is there somebody that could profit from tricking people to belive into a curse? says Feridnand, who put himself a bit into the background. He is not a huge fan of attention and only talks when something intrigues him very much. I was sent here by my order as they felt something odd about this place, and i feel it too. There is something about this tower that is definetly not as it should be and not as it seems to be. As he talks he leans forward as if was reading something laid on a table and as he finishes leans back again into the background.
ooc: can ferdinand make a perception check to try and feel "it"?
"I know my arrow flights felt like they were cursed." Dyrdramande says, and then goes back to slowly sipping her ale, and listening. The idea of going to a cursed tower isn't terribly appealing, but she was beginning to like these new friends, and if they were determined to go, she'd certainly see if she could offer any help.
"There's no one I can think off the top of my head that would want to see this place fall to ruin. Besides, everyone else is so swamped in their own affairs, so if it was someone in the barony who wanted us gone, they would have taken a much more direct approach."

There really isn't anything to try and "feel". The screams are definitely coming from the tower, but beyond that, there isn't a way of identifying what it is, at least from where you are now.
Rhys understands now why everyone was so unsettled and offkilter. "If I heard a scream like that every night, I would be uneasy too. You mentioned that it is difficult to get over there, why is that?"
Rhys looks at Dyrdramande, "I sympathize with that. I feel like nothing I could do would connect with those creatures. Perhaps the curse affects elven folk more than others?" At the end of this sentence, he adds a sly lilt.

Icierys taps a finger on his tankard, mulling over the information presented to the party. "As long as we have a way to reach the tower, I think our combined might can handle this problem. Be it monster or humanoid making the problem, I feel confident that it cannot stand against us together." Taking a swig of his ale, Icierys glances between Rhys and Caedmon. "I'm also interested in why it's been difficult to approach the tower."
Jayne, either unconsciously or purposely, slides her fingers through the hair on one side, guiding those locks behind her pointed ear. "I'm not sure how good I'll be in the face of something that sounds like that. The most I've fought ... well, the most I remember fighting is a pair of wolves who were after my mule. But Hal and Ophelia sent me here to help, so that's what I'll do," she says bravely. "Can we not just take a boat? Maybe those fishermen we just helped will let us borrow theirs?"
"Something odd with the current pushes boats around it. Nothing unmanageable, especially if you have experience with a boat, but most fishermen on the lake decide it isn't worth the hassle. There should be a boat big enough for all of you at the northern end of town. I should ask, does anyone have any experience with boating?"
Dyrdramande looks around sheepishly for a moment, tapping a finger against her tankard, then says, "my people frequently use canoes on the waterways of the wild. I'm no stranger to boats or paddling against the push of the water. I've never been on a boat as big as those fishing boats though, and not sure I could direct them as well." She thinks for a second and then looks to Caedmon and says, "about how far is it from the shore to the tower?"
Jayne smiles. "Problem solved. Under our archer's direction, and with these three strong ..." She looks a little hesitantly at Icierys. "... fighters, I'm sure we can make it to the island with little trouble." She quickly takes another swing of her drink.
"The tower is a little more than a mile offshore, so given your lack of experience, it should take maybe a half-hour or so to reach it? I'd recommend taking it slow on your way there, you'll probably need all your strength once you're actually in the tower!" He says with a small, lighthearted chuckle. "Anything else you need to know?"
"I guess I need to know where I can get a bite to eat and a bed for the night." Jayne looks around at the others. "This can wait until morning, right?"
Icierys nods in agreement with Jayne. "It would be best if we approach it with all our strength at once. Are there rooms we can stay in at this tavern?"
Rhys breaths a sigh of relief. "Right, I don't fancy wandering around an unknown cursed tower during the night. Pass. We can set off as the sun is coming up."

"We have rooms, but only three," he says, pointing back at the rickety stairs behind him. He rests his drink down and stands up as he says "However, I'm not much of an early riser, so why don't I show to the boat you can use before you settle down for the night?"

"While I've been on boats before, I've no experience pointing them in where to go."

Icierys shakes his head. "Not unless holding onto a log trying to stay afloat counts."

The sun has just about set, with only a few more minutes of daylight left.
