Bazahk was a raider with a tribe or orcs in Faerun. He gained a reputation over the years of raiding and pillaging. A hero to his tribe, but an outlaw and murderer to the surrounding lands, he left Faerun to get away from his past.
While we wait for the others, lets start with the story!
NOTE: None of the things I am putting in the campaign is Wizards of the Coast approved content, and Wizards of the Coast might publish contrasting content in the later years.
A ship sails through the clear seas, the flag of Waterdeep floats proudly in the air. The crew hurry around the deck as the ship approaches the dock, readying the goods for trade. On the deck is a figure, wearing a dark cloak to cover his Orcish features. ( Is that a word? ) His name is Bazahak.
Bazahk stands on the ship watching with dark eyes as the docks of the city approaches. He stands tall over the average height of most of the humans on the ship and wears mostly furs. He has a necklace made of wolf teeth and bone charms around his neck. He has a large great axe strapped to his back. His skin is a greenish-grey, and tusks jut out from his lower jaw. He looks on at the docks with interest. Perhaps he could start a new life here. Mercenary work always paid well, and he was good at it.
Father Cadfrey stands on the same ship watching the docks of the city approach. He won a commission to travel to Shou Long from Candlekeep to conduct research within this very mysterious country. Unfortunately, Cadfrey did not win enough of a commission to start a company to travel within this country so his travel and research seems to be solo.
Cadfrey draws in a deep breath, breathing in the winds of a new country and new adventure.
Just a few drinks, now and then. Sure, some nights it became an indulgence. But who could blame Li Fong? His position in the imperial bureaucracy had not exactly been what one could call mentally stimulating. He had not been the only official to entertain himself in the local tavern, not even on a nightly basis. So why had he, of all the officials, been banished from his position on the pretext of public drunkenness? When so many of his former colleagues continued enjoying earthly pleasures in the confines of their well-furnished offices? Why had he been singled out? Surely, it must have been his family's enemies trying to disgrace him.
No matter now. It was years ago, and Li Fong has spent them bettering himself. Learning discipline. Learning to harness the power of the liquors he enjoys so much, rather than become their slave.
He's come down by the shore to meditate. And then, to enjoy a bit of rice wine. Not necessarily in that order. He likes to come down here and watch the ships sailing in, bearing cargo and crew from far beyond the horizon. He likes mingling on the docks, with the common folk. They are far less judgmental than his so-called "friends" at court.
Something catches his eye about this new ship. A passenger aboard it. Maybe a crew member? A giant of a man with greenish-grey skin. Fur-clad, with bones and teeth adorning him as jewelry. And the most massive axe Li Fong has ever seen.
Now, there is a man who's bound to be interesting! Li Fong makes his way over towards where this new ship is docking. He has to see more of this strange foreigner, who is clearly not a common sailor. Maybe Li Fong can file a report on the man's background and business in the Empire. Maybe that will get him back on the path to reputability.
The ship arrives at the dock, and the captain rushes everyone down the ship. There is a long line for entry to the country. Father Cadfrey ends up in front of Bazhak. A man wearing a imperial uniform sits behind a wooden table, checking passports. While flipping through Father Cadfreys papers, he says in fluent common " Not a great time to visit the country. "
Liu Bao stands on the dock, waiting for an acquainted of him, an elf lady from the west named Valna Jarsali, a merchant from Waterdeep. He's here to check her cargo, a large quantity of Zzar, a famous wine from the City of Splendors.
He awaits the docking of the ship, and sees the green skinned man and a scholarly man at the front of the ship.

Li Fong is a disgraced drunkard from a respected family of courtiers, hoping to redeem his reputation (and possibly himself) by service to the Empire.

" No, it's not your problem. It's that... We are under attack. "
Father Cadfrey
"Mystra" Cadfrey exclaims. "I had no idea there was war in the land. Is the city under siege?" he asks.
