Velexa nods and turns to the blacksmith " s-sir would you be s-so kind to show us your home. w-we may be able to find something that will help find your bess." she strighten up some and gave a small smile to the rest of the group. she new in her heart that with them, they would find that young girl.
(The party follows Rickard to his workshop on the North edge of town. The signs of a struggle are everywhere: Broken pots litter the floor, splintered chairs and tables, etc. A goblin lays dead on the floor, a poker thus his chest. The layout of his workshop is roughly as shown:
"Well, here it is. I haven't really had a chance to look things over, I went for help as soon as I came to."

Also, remember, if you're going to roll, the difference between Perception (I look and see...) and Investigation (I see and deduce...). You have to be specific about what you're looking at when you make an Investigation roll. You can't just say, "I Investigate the room." You have to say, for example, "I Investigate the Workbench." When you roll, make sure to add your modifiers. Look at your Character Sheet under Skills and add the number to your roll.

Akra enters the workshop and looks around the room. "Wow, quite a messy fight happened here, didn't it?" she says, stepping over the broken items across the floor to get to the body of the goblin. Akra bends down to examine the body, trying to find any clues as to where the goblin was intending to go. 14

As Dartor marched into the workshop and sees the goblin he grumbled, "horrible creatures, they have no dignity" and went through the workshop and out into the pen, he scans the area and pays particularly close attention to the stable. (perception check on the stable:18)

As Nordans silently enters the room he sees everyone go off and look around, he notice pots on the floor and investigates (investigation check on pots 9 )
DMs note: Velexa, I notice you didn't roll thru the dice tool here, I'm assuming you rolled IRL. I'll give it to you this time but next time please use the little dice logo on the top right of the reply box to roll. Use the Rolling Dice thread to practice if you need to.

Dartor goes out to the pen and scans the area, paying particular attention to the stables. They appear to be clean but old, and it looks like there hasn't been any animals living in it for quite a while.
Spoiler for Dartor:
You look to the other side of the pen and notice a broken gate on the far right. Looking down, you notice some tracks in the dirt, and are able to perceive that there were about 7 sets of tracks. 6 appear to be Goblin tracks, and 1 seems to be from a small human. The tracks seem to be going to a fence on the far northeast side of the property.
(Nordan and Velexa both look at the broken pottery near the body. It appears to just be normal pots that had water or something in them, nothing too special about them.)

He then frantically enters back into the workshop and explains to the rest of the party, "Aye the goblins took Bess, her and no more than 6 goblin's tracks head towards the northeast side of this property by the broken fence gate. I have no idea how old they are, however if we set off now we could possibly follow the tracks to where they took the wee girl"

Akra pockets the copper pieces and the dagger. "Good find Dartor," she quickly says, "but one more thing before we go." She enters the living quarters and searches around Bess's bed, to see if it looks like anything is out of place or missing. 12
(Rickard looks around as Blade questions him about the workshop.)
"No, no. It doesn't look like they took anything."
(He points to a plow on the bench.)
"I mostly make farm equipment and horseshoes, so nothing obviously valuable."
(Rickard then follows Akra as she goes to the living quarters. It's a simple room with a bed, a dresser, and a small child's bed. Rickard takes a small rag doll from her bed and hands it to Akra.)
"This is her favorite doll. When you save her... please... she must be so scared..."
(The big, burly Blacksmith breaks down for a moment, but manages to compose himself. He then goes into his dresser and also pulls out a small First Aid box with 2 bandages.)
"Please, follow the tracks and find my daughter!"
(Nordan scouts ahead a little bit. The home is at the edge of the forest and the trees are large and numerous.The party assembles outside near the broken gate, make their last minute preparations, and head out, following the tracks.)
DM's note: If you want to do anything else before leaving please go ahead and post it, otherwise the next post will be the start of your journey. Also, the bandages are a bit of a homebrew (ie not from the PHB) item that, if applied to an unconscious party member, will restore them back to 1 HP. I've got a few small bobbles like that, so keep your eyes peeled. ;)
(The group gets ready and head out into the forest. Nobody is a natural tracker here, so you kind of muddle thru here, losing the trail a few times as you get your bearings. Everyone is moving forward at a decent pace for several hours, but it's gotten dark. Those in the party without some sort of darkness vision light torches. Suddenly, you all slow and stop all together.)

(A faint rustling noise, then some squealing is heard as a sense of danger fills the air.)
"Brace yourselves everyone!"
(Three boars, 2 regular Boar and one Giant Boar, are rushing at you all full speed. Roll for initiative!)

This is the first battle and a good chance to test out any of your attacks, spells or skills you may not be too familiar with. Go nuts, as you will have a chance to rest and regain anything you use.
