After following Elelyel to this feast and hearing all that was said, Tanogar sniffed at the food and cups suspiciously while largely not paying attention to the details. In part because he had no clue about these factions or their relevancy to anything, but mostly due to believing this to be no dragon. The tribal druid stands and says to whomever it may pertain to "I pledge my services to find out the happenings of what is going on. I have not yet completed the Rite of Consumption, but I can aid with my limited magics in combat or extracting information." Not bothering to explain exactly what that means as to him this statement made a fair deal more sense than the nonsense these main-landers had been spewing.
(OOC: I'm good to go wherever if a group is unbalanced, if not then I can tag along with the people finding the weapon.)
Elelyel reads through the scroll and smiles as she tucks it away. She stands up, her cup in her hand. "I will help however I can. Both with retrieving the weapon and with hunting the dragon. You are doing a service to me, dealing with... people, I have the misfortune to know. I am happy to return such service with some of my own. Let's us find the weapon and make plans for dealing with the dragon."
As she sits down, she leans over to Jhoni. "I didn't get a good look at whatever that bastard used against us. Think it will do us any good on this?"
Tegid looks over to Tongar,, recognising a brother druid, "Well met brother, have you travelled far?"
Looking at the rest of the group, "Well, I am more trained in the lore of the land rather than the martial arts, but I will help where required."
Tanogar glances over the person who addressed them, contemplating for a moment before bowing their head slightly. "Greetings Landshaper. I hail from Chult, seeking the cause of Ubtao's silence." Looking up at Tegid with a rather bland look on his face, which still appears somewhat menacing given the tattoos on his face.
DMOOC: sorry guys, just got home from the farm, been there since 9 am...blew a hole in the radiator on my Ford 8n, by the time I got it it fixed the darn thing was so mudded down in the field I had to get the Kabota to winch it out...lets just say its been a day. Gimme about an hour or so to eat and shower and ill hop on with stuff for ya. Gonna post some pics and that video map improvised was coming up, respond to posts, and see where we get before I fall asleep, coffee's on, so we should be ok for some hours.
Alright, just so this doesn't get too Tarantino on us, any further requests for retcon before the feast close at 9 am eastern around 9/12 hours from the time of this post. if you already posted them, ill respond to them via PM so as not to tie up the thread. if you arent sure what that means, PM me for an explanation.
The present in game time is somewhere around 9pm, the THIRTEEN of you(an unlucky number to be sure) and the barbarian have gathered in the temple dining hall after enjoying(or not) the opening ceremonies of the festival of universal love and music.
After a fine Dwarven feast is shared by all, Mool has asked you to help locate and destroy the green dragon Dagurashibanipal and given you several things to think about, including the rough location of Androll's infamous weapon Mib(which was used to drive the beast away some forty years ago, and the potential involvement of the Zhentarim in the kidnapping of his fellow cleric's daughters. Several of you have agreed to aid the town, and some have asked around town for knowledge on how to defeat the dragon. The tiefling Righteousness has presented to the group his findings from the town library, a short manuscript detailing the ecology of green dragons. Mool has also provided to each of you, courtesy of the father of the kidnapees, a cleric scroll to protect you from the dragon. (OOC please note that the scroll must be activated by a cleric, I dont think i mentioned this previously).
Righteousness had been absorbed by his findings, but upon hearing that slavers were afoot, lost his composure briefly. "This town is under threat of peril by a cunning beast that seeks control of all near it, and they prefer to sell maidens......TO DROW?!" His anger starts to manifest sporadically, lights flicker, a draft of wind, and his eyes glow with hate. "we may not be strong enough yet to deal with this viridescent menace, but these scum shall feel my wrath.Give the word, Sers, and I will root them out, flay them with my morningstar, and TAKE THEM BEFORE HELM HIMSELF FOR THEIR CRIMES AGAINST CIVILIZATION!"He then is panting, ferociously, before realizing what had just happened. "Forgive me, Sers....." and he excuses himself to somewhere where he can cry, remembering a campaign that ended with a slaver camp, and the grisly results therein. (in case you want to know, think Drow version of a nazi Death camp, complete with sentient experimentation.)

DMOOC: Ill award you inspiration for that (you get advantage on a future roll of your choosing.)
Mool asks if anyone would like another drink. The Sounds of the festival continue outside, The second act has gone on stage, and the crowd's cheers can be heard even inside the goddess Melora's stone temple.
The barbarian stares at TlakShik throughout the night. He seems a bit nervous at the Thri-Kreen's presence. He gulps down a fifth tankard of fine dwarven ale. You noticed at dinner that for a barbarian, he seems to have an oddly specific distaste for meat, he only ate vegetables and a huge portion of stewed Mushrooms.
Koric shakes his head sadly, "It has been a long day today, and likely will be a longer one tomorrow. I will need a clear head. I will have to content myself with the delightful company and music."
He raises his glass to Mool and takes another sip. "Perhaps you could tell us more of these vaults? Or is that a discussion best left 'til the morning?"
At a later point, seeing that he is seated next to the brooding presence of the Barbarian, Koric will put on one of his most engaging smiles, and say "I don't think we have been properly introduced...my name is Koric. And you are?"
Mool retrieves a map of the catacombs under the temple from a desk in the corner of the room and lays it out:
"If you wish to retrieve the weapon 'Mib' from it's vault, there are some things you must know."
He points to a spot on the map (A) and says," here is the basement door and stairs, located on the back side of this building. The doors are locked, but i will give you the key.
Here(pointing at D) is the entrance to the city sewer. Take care, there is a grate across the entrance but odd things have been known to slip through the bars from time to time. You must stay alert. even small creatures that reside in sewers tend to be poisonous.
(His finger slides east to 3) "here is the passage you must take to avoid Androll's security measures. His personal study is north of there, and there are several traps between the two spots that only Androll's voice can deactivate. There are various Golems wandering about as well, Androll commissioned several different wizards to create his security force. I once asked him why he chose Golems over posting a guard. His logic was sound, he told me,(doing an impression of a overly cheery booming voice) 'Guards can be bought, Mool, these magic beasties can not.' Bear that in mind when dealing with them if they detect you.
He points to (4). "This is my best guess as to where Mib is stored. There may be more security there, i am unfortunately uncertain about that. I know not what lies in the other rooms, but i know that Androll has a fine private library and an apothecary's pantry among them."
He looks at the group. "Well, I think that about wraps it up. As to how to discover the dragon's lair, perhaps the Paladin's manuscript can be of some help, I personally havent the foggiest notion where the evil thing makes it's home, but i would venture that it is not too far from the city because no one saw a dragon in flight the day the farm was destroyed. I wish that i could accompany you, but I must remain here in case any of the guard has problems during the festival. The Blue Boys will occasionally pick on a tourist too much or try to pick their pockets, and if anyone is injured i must be here to offer healing services, it is part of my oath as a priest of the temple."
Mool looks at you as though he expects great things from you all. " Melora's blessing upon you, Adventurers." at those words, a warm feeling washes over you , and you feel the touch of the nature goddess upon your souls.
('Melora's Blessing': each of you now has resistance to poison, and takes half damage from all poison damage, this lasts 24 hours, unless another blessing is cast upon you, in which case 'Melora's Blessing' is removed.)
The barbarian seems a bit lost in thought..."Hmm? My name is Thurk. It is nice to meet you." he says politely. It seems forced.
"You handled yourself well in the skirmish at the docks earlier. Do you know much magic such as that..." (Thurk makes a finger gun an pew pews at the wall, imitating your earlier attacks.)
Before you can all begin to work out a plan, Mool gets a very concerned look on his face, and you all realize suddenly that at some point, the music has stopped outside. As you listen, you begin to hear the screams of the crowd shift from exhuberant joy to fearful panic.
Without warning, a man wearing a celebretory tunic that is covered in blood bursts through the door, screaming and crying like a child.
" THE EYES! THE EYES! MELORA HELP US ALL IT WAS EATING THEIR DAMNED EYES!'
The man collapses to his knees and falls forward to the unyielding stone floor. To your horror, viscous green venom bubbles and steams from a huge slash across the man's back. Mool runs to him and tries to save the man, but he is too late, the man is dead.
DMOOC: going to bed now, hopefully i can be on here at a more reasonable hour tomorrow. If everyone hasn't rolled for init by then i'll just roll for you so we can at least try to start the encounter properly, lol. Much love everyone, i dunno if this means anything to any of you , but this thread has like 2000 views, which is more views than anything ive ever written online has gotten before, and that makes me feel pretty good. Thank you.
Sorry about no new video, here's a sneak peek map of the courtyard instead...wonder whats on the top half? ;-)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Koric Initiative: 22
Perhaps before combat (or not):
Koric whistles appreciatively at the map, "That is exquisite work! i wish I had my tools to make a proper copy; do you mind if I keep it for the night and make the best copy I can?"
(( Depending on the above, Koric will hastily grab the map and put it inside his coat when the ruckus begins ))
To Thurk he says "A little, but much of what I know is about defence -- in one way or another -- and I know a little healing. People such as yourself are needed for the challenging enemies!" he says with a smile, "But I do what I can."
Elelyel reads through the scroll and smiles as she tucks it away. She stands up, her cup in her hand. "I will help however I can. Both with retrieving the weapon and with hunting the dragon.
