"Autumn spire is an hour at most on foot through the city. This high warden he's a known councillor of the Autumn spire...who are you delivering the package for," Halla asks very suspicious of Aliik now.
Aliik clicks his beak, a little taken aback by Halla's tone. "The merchant I was speaking to - Percival Dantes," he points back towards the lion man. "He offered me coin to deliver the package, said it was an urgent matter." He barley keeps himself from sighing, wondering what strange slight he's committed now. "He didn't tell me what it is, only that it was enchanted so that he would know if I left the city with it," he explains, holding the package up between them.
As Aliik gestures to the place where the Lion man was is a crowd of shoppers and no lion man stands there!
"I don't know this Dantes. You would be wise to know the people you make agreements better before making the agreement," Halla scolds. "What's in this package then," she asks next pointing at the package now.
Aliik ducks his head, embarrassed. "You're quite right," he accedes. "My apologies," he adds as he looks down at the package. "I'm afraid I don't quite know; he didn't tell me. Should I...Open it?" He didn't quite want to open it, frankly, but if was necessary...
"It's shaped like some sort of book," he mutters, inspecting the package closer. "Do you suspect something untoward, Halla?"
Rashar glances back at Rhogar, but shakes his head.
“Traps? Yes, those of a physical nature I have the tools to disarm such treachery.” Rashar pats his pouch containing his Thieves Tools. “But in a package of that size...any traps could only be magical. That would be out of my expertise.”

Kyrian steps up to examine it. "If it is a trap, let me open it. I am the least valuble, and I couldnt live with myself if I let an.....if one of you died" A look of pain flashes over his face as he speaks.

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
“Very well. To open this package, we must use caution. If we could find a long pole with a hook, then we could stand from a distance and undo the package, hopefully rendering us safe from traps.”
(Assuming the package has been tied up with twine or so something similar).

Kyrian disregards the warnings of his companions opening the package. He's insanely killed but a thick sickly vapor escapes looming around his lifeless body.
Rhogar lacks anything resembling finesse. He is as liable to break whatever is inside the package as he is to find any sign of traps, magic or otherwise.
Instead he goes to where Aliik talked to this lion-man. He looks for any sign that he had been there.
Rhogar sighs at what he finds himself doing. This will not work. I am not smart for this kind of looking he thinks. But he looks anyway.
(OOC edit - for some reason the posts above did not appear before I posted mine, so it’s a bit out of space and time - the intent being he wandered off to examine the spot where the lion man was prior to the others trying to open the package)

Mirion just moves to be in eye sight of the object, letting those more able to deal with traps touch it.

Thanks for the creativity. This game is officially on hiatus.
