Mr.Dark, "A dragon calllin something else a snake seems....ironic. Maybe its an older sibling that has had a falling out. Ohhhh...damn....falling out would have been a good one. I'll save that for next time. Um...anyway, I think we don't know enough to conjecture much. Now we know there's a dragon..and someone the dragon doesn't like he calls a snake."
He lays his head on his backpack and closes his eyes, settling in. He places his finger on his nose, "Shotty not it for first watch...."

Mr. Dark is met with a sweet symphony of snoring. Between man and wolves, there was a mix of snorts, whistles and moist breathing. Others were welcome to join in with their own beat. Bird eventually began to chirp as the time passed.
After an unknown amount of time (during which Kaemgen did hit the Short Rest button and roll ALL the Hit Dice) one of the wolves (probably Pollux) shifts and kicks and hits Kaemgen somewhere uncomfortable which immediately brings him awake and alert! There is an understandable amount of cursing and groaning but after a moment or three he realizes he's feeling... better. Not good. No, good is probably a long ways away, but better. At least good enough to travel more.
"We should put more distance in between us and it," he says, vaguely indicating the sky. "Find some actual cover and shelter even..."

”Thou has counseled a wise course, good Kaemgen, yet I must mention that the white dragon menace retreated north toward the mountains, not south toward the ruined temple where its hoard is rumored to lie. Though it could be fraught with peril, this may be an opportune time for our intrepid group to sojourn thence,” says Auric, putting words to the thoughts he had been stewing on during their rest.

"Track it down? Put it down for good?" Kaemgen asked. The idea had merit and his heart longed for that particular hunt... But is it the wise course? He looks to Castor and Pollux and knows they will follow him, no matter what. A mixed bag, that, to be sure. Then to the others in the party... Each of them could make the choice for themselves, of course, as he must also...
"To be true, the beast seemed as wounded as I was. That seems to argue for pursuing it... But just as I have mostly recovered, will it not have? And if it hasn't won't it just fly further beyond our reach? Mind you, I long to feed that thing to the manticore and be done with it, but I am not sure we have the tools yet to get the job done," Kaemgen admits. "At the very least I would like some way to ensure it doesn't just fly up out of our reach and barrage us with its freezing breath..."
"So, good Auric, I say not. I do not think it wise at this juncture. But wise or not I have thrown in with you lot and if you go to hunt dragon then I go to hunt dragon, wisdom be damned."

Snort. Pollux was dreaming of running through the fields, causing him to shift abruptly in his sleep. Suddenly he was woken up and practically falls out of 'bed'. He blinks a few times. Castor yawns and takes their time stretching dramatically while Kaemgen and Auric chat. Pollux pads back to Kaemgen's side, plopping himself down on his foot. The pups eyes follow the shiny dragonman's flying golden nugget. He licks his lips, opens his mouth wide, and clamps down on Kaemgen's forearm to gnaw on it.
Orienting yourselves and consulting the map, Auric could calculate that the group is approximately 20miles (4hrs) from Phandalin, while Cryovain headed over the hills, beyond the gold mine and the mountains.
After glancing around to see if there was another strong opinion, Auric says, “Let us then return unto Phandalin ere the night falls, that we might find succor and wise counsel regarding our adventures.”
Kaemgen absently pulls his arm from Pollux’s mouth and instead grabs their snout and wrestles absently with them. “Nooo,” he instructs. “No shiny. Shiny is our friend, so no eating!”
“Phandalin,” Kaemgen agrees with Auric. “And if by chance we can better equip and prepare ourselves then perhaps we can discuss chasing the beast… I am intrigued though, it seemed like there was someone or something else it was concerned about. Is it not odd for a dragon to concede anything else as an equal? None the less to get seen as worried about it?”
Though Kaemgen is drawn into more roughhousing with Pollux soon after, with Castor eventually sneaking in to join the fun as well. The trio were perhaps not as rough or boisterous as usual but they still ended up plenty first from rolling about on the ground and all. By the time the rest were ready to move on, so we’re they, having burned off their excess energy…
“We should check in with Adabra while we’re close,” he suggested casually. “The wolves’ll love to see her and we should make sure the manticore is abiding…”

Mr.Dark gets up and looks around the area a bit while the group chats and then comes back and leans against a tree. He absently flicks his coin up into the air, catching it deftly and flipping it once again. "The wolves saw her less than a day ago. They really just returned from her place to meet us at the farm and we haven't gone far since. I say we push on to Phandalin. It would be good to know if people know more about this sort of dragon, and if anyone has heard the term 'snake' used to describe anyone else around. And also it might be nice to try and secure at least one magical weapon amongst us...those rat folk are still an issue."

"Hear that, boys? Mr.Dark says no... Says you two seen her enough lately," Kaemgen says, breaking the news to the wolves. He pauses for a moment to give them each a scratch behind the ears before continuing. "Though it was Adabra who somehow fashioned the magic grill of teeth that Pollux is sporting... And the jaunty bandana that makes Castor a little tougher. She sent the potions back with them in order to help us..."
"But I'm sure you're right," Kaemgen continues after a moment. "A woman who could do all that at a moments notice is unlikely to be able to help us further or to point us in the right direction to possibly obtain magical weapons. Push on to Phandalin it is."

Leaving the group with that note, Mr. Dark leads the way back to Phandalin. It was a familiar easy road, as the Triboar trail was quite established. With the threat of the dragon behind the group, there was not much worth worrying about.
It was a quiet march back, even the wolves didn’t bother to contest. They just kept their noses to the ground and obediently tagged along. The air grew damp, thick and tense with fog as the road dragged on. It wasn’t until the group came up on Phandalin that it began to rain.
Coming to a stop in the town square, it was up to each individual to decide their next steps from there.
Kaemgen considered pulling on his cloak as the rain started but in the end just couldn’t be bothered. The wet never did kill anyone anyway. The wolf use would shake themselves every once in a while and send water scattering. Kaemgen wasn’t sure it helped but he always did find it amusing. He considered trying it out for himself.., but he was pretty sure he couldn’t get the wriggle to go all the way to his butt like they did. Besides, he still had enough of his noble sensibilities to not want to look a total fool…
As the group paused in the town square, Kaemgen gave them each a long look. He hasn’t exactly decided that it would be a last look but a part of him had a hunch it could well be. They had been through a lot in a short time… Sometimes such things drew people together. Other times the things just happened.
“Back where we all began together,” he noted. “Seems as good a place as any to leave it off as well.”
Kaemgen stepped up to Auric and Xenophon and Marblebeard and shook the hands and gave them each a long look. “If you ever have the need of me I think the pups here and myself will be headed back to Adabra’s. I’m figuring she could use some help keeping the manticores fed…”
“As for the dragon…” Kaemgen gave a shrug, he didn’t really know what to say about that. “Mayhap it flew off for good. Mayhap hardier, more reckless types are needed. If you do take a go at her you know where to find me… at least as long as she’ll have me, I figure.”
He starts to turn around and take his leave but pauses… But then again, everything needed saying was said by an itchy eyebrow.
With a quick tchk-tchk to signal the wolves, Kaemgen completed turning around and headed off into the rain and the fog.

Smiling and Kaemgen, Auric says, "Fare thee well, Kaemgen. My quest remains--the utter destruction of the chromatic dragons that so tarnish the reputation of my kind. Once I have tarried here sufficiently to recover my strength and re-provision, I will follow in Cryovain's wake. If fortune smiles on me, I will find another intrepid group of hearty souls such as thine own who will join me in this mission."
Auric likewise bids farewell to the others and heads to Townmaster Harbin's place to update him on their adventures, but he already has the look of a traveler ready to set his foot to a new road...
