Davril glances over at the others looking over papers and daggers, "Is that what we're here for? If not, perhaps we should set it aside until we're out of here and keep looking, yes?"

" Well no probably not exactly but that ghost was pretty convincing about the importance of this stuff. Besides it's easier to go through it here than on the road. Especially if there is something here that could help us but we don't know it. Man I can't believe I'm the only one who understood her. That's crazy. Here look inside this bag and I'll check the box." Replys Quin.

Vothrolo comes over and looks at the second piece of paper. Looking it over for a minute, she pulls a book out of her satchel and looks from one to the other before finally stating “I, I think this may be from Woitech’s diary. He is the warlord who hid the caches we’re looking for. After the fall of Kwalmendi, a number of different languages came into being. Woitech apparently resurrected an old language to use in his official communications. He wanted something that other people would be unable to read. This map and page resembles the Woitech’s alphabet. But, I don’t know the language well enough to read this without my reference material. But, how did the goblin end up with this page . . ?”
The leather sheath that the dagger is in shows signs of age, with it barely holding together when Quin picks it up. But, the dagger inside shows no trace of rust or other signs of aging. The metal box is locked, but, the rogue has no trouble picking the lock. Inside of the box are two vials containing a red liquid and an iron ring.
The bag that Quin hands to Balhazar contains two books wrapped in a cloth. The books are in fairly decent shape, although the language is not something that the wizard is familiar with. Both books appear to be written in the same language, and the titles of both books have the word “Kwaelmondi” in their title, with the K and W written as a single letter and the a and e also written as a single letter.
The bag that Quin hands to Davril contains 8 gems and a number of coins. Three of the gems are red, three are green, and the final two are blue.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Hey check those other bags. And maybe see if one of those books is missing a page. Since those gobs seemed so interested in it maybe that piece of paper came from it and that's why." Says Quin.
He takes out the vials and examines them. Popping the top off one he first wafts a bit of air across the top to see if it smells in a way he might recognize. He makes a mental note of the aroma and then plugs the end of the vial with his thumb before inverting it over and back again. He tests the texture of the little sample left behind before touching it to his lip. He waits for a moment to gauge what kind of potion it might be. As he waits for any effects to register he takes a closer look at the iron ring.
"Once we are done here and ready to go back to town we should not head the same way from which we came, but rather retrace the goblins steps. There might be more clues that way as to how they got their filthy hands on the diary."
When Quin tastes a little bit of the red fluid, he notices that some of the aches he had from the battle fade away. A quick comparison of the books with the loose sheet of paper makes it clear that the paper did not come from the books. It is clearly written in a different language than the books. Vothrolo, when she gets a good look at the books, gets very excited, saying "Oh, this is wonderful! This is what I was looking for. This one is entitled "Ballads of the Kwalmendi Empire," oh, and this one is the "The Beginnings and Early History of the Kwalmendi Empire." These books will do wonders for my research. I hope the other caches are every bit as productive."
The ring has ornate waves engraved on it, with blue minerals interspersed between the wave.
OOC And, yes, the ring is for a finger.
The third and final bag is the heaviest of the three bags. Inside of it, wrapped in cloth are two figurines and a metal tube. The first figurine is of a fanged horse, while the second is the head of a human. The metal tube contains a rolled up painting. The painting depicts a parade of various people and animals, with humans, orcs, elves, goblins, hippogriffs, owlbears, and manticores visible in the parade. As these items are revealed, Vothrolo becomes excited again. "Oh, these are also from the Kwalmendi Empire. The fantastic style of the horse and the painting are unmistakable, and the pony tail braided and wrapped around the head on the human was a distinctive hair style of the time."
OOC Davril finds 350 gp, 400 sp, and 200 cp in the bag.
"Incredible! All this, and under a goblin's trove! I suppose goblins tend to get their grubby hands on these things by dint of sheet determination and dumb luck. Still, it is progress! Do you think that there is more here to discover, Vothrolo?"
"Whhhheeeeeew," Quin blows out a low whistle as the items are identified. " Well done felllas! Couple healing potions here." He pockets the ring for later along with the potions. " Unless somebody wants one now, I'll just hold on to them. Now lets follow Davril's advice and get our hides the hall out of here. Cause he's right that we aren't home free yet. Once we get to a safe place we can have Vothrolo go over each item yet unidentified and we can split the coin. Haaa!! This is getting fun!" He claps Lukas on the back as he gathers up and stows the box. "Vothrolo, you just go ahead and keep those books and figurines. Unless you need or would like some assistance in carrying stuff? Lead on my good men!" Quin exuberantly calls out.
"The ring looks fascinating, it might be important. Vothrolo, are you familiar with the pattern? Balthazar, can you identify if it is magical? You have a spell for that, don't you?"
"I must confess, this frightens me. Ordinary goblins are not that capable mentally. I have the ominous feeling that there is either some abbarant one among them that knows too much and leads them, or that something else but a goblin has corralled them."
“Lemme look at th’ dagger,” Quiller says. “I could use another one as only has one; not very good in mêlée w’id just one.”

"indeed, if we knew the way they came in."
"Don't worry Lukas my friend I'm sure those doors over there that they came through will take us right out. Now lets see what's in this last bag."
When Quin finishes his investigation of the box items he will move on to the last bag.
(OCC: disregard that last bit if I miscounted or misunderstood. I thought there we 3 and we've only expressed opening 2.)

(In addition to the gems, what coins were in the bag?)
Davril collects the coins and gems and sets them aside for later disbursement.

Balthazar will go ahead and spend a minute to cast identify on the ring.
