Samael smiles at the honesty. "the deal is most satisfactory, and I accept." He then offers a sympathetic smile to the both of them, "And I am aware that nobles are a greedy sort, and flighty. Before coming here, I had to be an assistant to a record-keeper who dealt with nobility. The Hedonistic sort." Samael turns to the messy gnome and follows, with a polite "lead on, ser Granther."
(the ser here is used because Samael is conveying that honest men are more noble than the nobility at times.)
(OOC - Hey man, I hope you're not getting annoyed with me in that most recent post. I had some other responsibilities that I had to take care of and was aware I needed to go through my notifications from yesterday, of which you were the first one for a reply. So I'm sorry for the delay, but I had to deal with life things first.)
Granther stands a little taller after being called 'ser' and smiles a yellow-toothed smile. He waves for you to follow and leads you to the stables, at which he points to three of the stalls, two horses and a cow. "That one there is Skymane. He's my prize stallion, but got a bit of a temper at times. That one is Skydance and she's my brothers mare. Don't go letting them get hurt, understand? The cow's name is Moofin. My boy named her. Heavens knows where he came up with a strange name like that." He shakes his head. "Now, the rest of the animals in here should be right easy to handle. Just gotta watch those three don't kick you or worse. Had one stable boy go right through the side wall one day," he chuckles at the thought. He points at the various stable tools hanging on a wall at the end of the barn. "I'll get you to muck out the stalls. Feed all the animals. Then brush down Skydance and Skymane, and milk ol' Moofin there as well. Think you can handle that, young ser?"
So for your first day of work, I'll get you to make three separate Animal Handling checks for each of Skymane, Skydance and Moofin. Also, let me know how many days you'd like to work as well. Depending on how these first rolls go and how many days you want to work, I may get you to make a few extras.
As any who are still milling about in town will notice one evening as they go to enter the tavern, a notice has been placed near the entrance. Fine paper with brilliant penmanship and a wax seal at the bottom of the notice reveal its origin from the nobles of the court about Trishdale. It reads:
"It has come to my attention that some adventurers journeyed to an old library outside of town recently. I consider myself a historian of sorts, and have read tales of such a place. There is tale of a wonderfully rare item held in the library's vaults. I would have you acquire it for me, for a handsome fee of course. Find me at the Trishdale courts and I shall tell you more.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC - just the three rolls, but over a week, the 3 lots works too.)
On the first day, none of the three temperamental animals seem all that fond of you, though Skymane does not out right kick at you, he does take a bit of calming while you brush him. Skydance and Moofin on the other hand want nothing to do with you. Both give you a solid kick throughout your duties and you take 3 bludgeoning and 4 bludgeoning from them, respectively.
As the week progresses Skymane gives you a good kick, as does Moofin once again who is less than impressed with your attempts to milk her (2 bludgeoning and 3 bludgeoning). But Skydance takes a real liking to you and happily lets you groom her.
And as your week of work draws to a close, Moofin gives you one last reminder of her distaste for you, with another swift kick (4 bludgeoning).
Granther laughs at each of these encounters, thoroughly amused. At the end of the week and counts out 14 silver pieces for you. "Thanks for your help there, young ser," he nods, "You can always come back and see if Moofin has taken a shine to you." He laughs and walks back into the barn, leaving you to venture back into the town once more.
"somehow, I doubt that. but should i return from my endeavour alive, and with no progress on anything else, I shall return here for work." Samael nods towards the stablemaster. "mind that the cow learns manners, I was fortunate to be wearing my studded leather, and that they didn't kick the studs."
(I’ve got some sad family stuff going on. I want to join, but I won’t know until late Wednesday whether or not I’ll be free to do so.)
(OOC - sorry to hear that. Hope you're going alright. If you want, we can say that you catch up a little after the group has left. But that's totally up to you.)
(OOC - To the others - Let me know once you have the group assembled and which path you'd like to take :) )
Nolla nods. "I would like to take care of that issue we left unfinished for the farmer." She says. "Though this library looks of interest as well." She glances around. "Unless we have a lot more people coming, I don't feel comfortable returning to those tunnels with just 3 of us, so we likely need to do some more recruiting."

16 moofin
3rd series
(and they said it would take them a week, so i'll work the whole week.)

(OOC - there was talk of returning to that as well. So there are options as to what you wish to pursue next :) Something for you all to decide.)
(waited a week for neogi fight, so who's doing what then?)
Thavriol reads the notice. "Interesting, but I want to clear out the neogi, first. Any takers? Thoughts?" He looks around.
Tandor the White, Human Life Cleric
Samael notices the ad and thavriol, and looks him in the eye.
"Are you confident in your skill and everyone else's, to contend with a Beholder?"
Samael asks that question to see his resolve, and if he's insistent, Samael will follow, because he won't leave another man to die.
(ooc: i'm still on for the neogi, btw)
