"Thank you very much good sir, have a good day". Muharg nods to the man and joins the rest of the party. "Shall we?" Then takes a glance to the sky to get an idea of what time of the day it is.
Qinfaren also waves good-bye to Parcelmaster Bassk.
"I hope you get something to eat soon. It will help."
Looking around at the city street, the islands with the bridges, and the tall lighthouse, he turns in a circle taking it all in, his mouth half open.
"This is amazing. We must go to that lighthouse," he says then looks to the others. "Please."
Then he pauses and looks up and down the street. "But where are the trees?"
Before waiting for answer though he's distracted by Muharg's question to a passerby. He smiles at the dwarf. "Yes, maybe ale first then the lighthouse?"
"Yes, ale to celebrate our new adventure!" Rahk agrees with an easy grin. "And we might find some information in the tavern, as well, so we may be doubly fortunate!" Then she looks around, brows furrowed. "Now, pray, how do we get to this tavern?"
"Tavern, then lighthouse," Shad nods. He pops the last of that piece of jerky into his mouth and pulls his hood back if the sun is bright enough to warm him. The coat is ankle-length and lined with fur. "I think west to Dragon's Beach from Captain's Court." Shad looks in that direction and tucks the list of clients' names into another coat pocket.
Qinfaren follows along behind Shad and Muharg, watching everything they pass with awe. Occasionally he tries to catch a glimpse of Shad behind winter garb he wears. Do tabaxi's have tails, he wonders to himself.
But the cold winter clothes Shad wears, reminds Qinfaren of why he came to Luskan in the first place. His smile fades.
As they head west, Shad can smell The Trackless Sea. "Blah," he says. "The sea," he says to the dwarf. "I hate it." Shad scratches at his arm pit. "Fish though. Fish are tasty."
Muharg nods at Rahk “That’s true” he says “but...” and turns to Shad “the sea is much more than that. It is like one of those intense love affairs, I’d even say it’s like life itself. The sea can nurture you like a caring mother, feed you and give you confort. When it is in a good mood, peaceful, you can really find yourself while at the sea. On the other hand though, it can be cruel, rough and mercyless. It can give and it can take... As I said, it is like life itself.” Then pauses for a few seconds, lost in his own thoughts, then smiles and says “I could tell you many a stories from the sea if you’re in the mood some day.”
After the comparatively short walk down to Dragon Beach, you spot the Cutlass on the corner of the street. The tavern looks like it has seen better days. The windows are all boarded up and you can barely see anything inside the tavern. However, the sign for the tavern does depict a stylised picture of an island with two rocky heights. The island on the sign looks a lot like one of the islands that you can see in the bay. Looking at the map you can see that the island in the bay is called Cutlass Island, and decide that the tavern must get its name after the island.

Qinfaren steps up to the door of the Cutlass and looks inside.
Turning back to the others he says, "the man said this was the best tavern on this side of the bay. I do like that they appear to be letting it return to a more natural state."
He returns is attention to the tavern and tries pushing the door open.
"I do hope they have some Baldur's Gate Pale Ale. I tried some last summer. Not as strong as a good Firbolg sour, but quite tasty still."
Inside you find the tavern full mean-looking people. The humans have missing teeth, missing hands, or eye patches. Whilst in the corner around a table, drow are sitting with goblets of ale. They have their hoods up, casting their faces in shadow. Though you do occasionally get a glimpse of white hair, amber eyes, and pointed ears as they turn around to watch people as they walk by.
In another corner, a bugbear sits with a couple of goblins and a hobgoblin. In a third corner, a sits in the corner by himself. He sits with his large frame taking up much space in the corner. He pushed the table out to make room for himself as he watches the other tavern patrons.
At one end of the bar, you see a half-orc drunk out of his mind and sitting awkwardly on a barstool that is clearly too small for him. He clutches a bottle of outrageously expensive-looking Shadowdale brandy to his chest, wrapped shoddily in cheap cloth. At the other end, tiefling sits with a goblet in her hand.
The bartender is a large man, with a large gut, yet somehow he looks to be the most intimidating of the lot.

Muharg takes a look around, taking in as much as he can, evaluating the situation... then shrugs, adjusts his belt and says “Well then, should we find ourselves a table or are you guys more of a standing-by-the-bar people?”
In addition to the others in the tavern, the party sees a fairly tall goliath standing just inside the tavern. Dressed in leathers with his head almost reaching the ceiling, he seems to be scanning the room for something or someone. Hearing some new comers, he turns glances behind him at the door and his eyes widen as he peers as sees the group. Straightening he turns around, and asks hopefully, "Are you the new group from the Luskan Deliverers? You seem to match the description the Parcelmaster gave me. I was supposed to meet up with you earlier but I was delayed. The Parcelmaster suggested I try catch you at the tavern and so I rushed over. It seems in my haste I beat you to the place."
Hi all. Sorry for the delay in posting. I missed that the thread had gone up and so was still waiting. I know the intro post is akward, but just wanted to get things rolling. Am looking forward to playing with you all.

Qinfaren watches the goliath approach with a small smile on his face. In his travels he had always felt comfortable when around their kind. Quite direct, perhaps a tad competitive, but they were the right size. You never had to worry about stepping on one.
"What might we call you? I'm Qinfaren the Quiet," the firbolg says in a deep loud voice. "We thought we might taste an ale or two while we look for our first customer. Spider something."
He turns to Shad, who has the list.
"What was the spider's name?"
But then he becomes distracted by the bar. He claps the goliath on the back and walks over to the rotund barkeep waving in greeting.
"Ales, please, for myself and my new friends. Your best."
Bjorn follows the group over to the bar glad that the initial meeting had gone so well. When they have found a place he turns to address them, introducing himself, "I am called Bjorn, and I am of the Akannathi tribe. I am glad to be joining all of you on this venture."

"A pleasure, Bjorn; I'm Rahkati, though everyone usually just calls me Rahk," she says cheerfully, lifting a hand to wiggle her fingers in something like a wave. "Real excited for this adventure!" She turns to the barkeep then, her grin seeming a permanent fixture. "We're workin' with the Luskan Deliverers," she informs the barkeep, blowing a bit of her wild curls from her face. "We're lookin' for....," she pauses, squinting as she tries to remember. "Nez...somethin', right?"

"Well, the best tavern on this side of the bay, is Cutlass," replies the man. "It's down on Dragon Beach."

The sun is high in sky, but slightly to the west. Suggesting it is early afternoon.

The barkeep leans forward, and in a deep but friendly tone, the man says, "Certainly, I guess that will be six mugs of Never Winter ale then?"
He grabs six mugs and fills them with ale before placing them on the bar in front of Qinfaren.
"That will be... two silver pieces and four copper pieces, in total.
But say, I have haven't seen you lot in town before. What brings you here?"
