As you see your companions readying to fight this cloaked figure, the man himself turns, also looking ready for hostilities to begin. You though are the first to react, and may now take your action...
(OOC: I am trying something different, and would like everyone to wait until it is their turn to post actions. It may slow things down, but I am hoping it may also make things a bit more indepth. Let's see how it works out.)
Lifting her hand, Windlass sends four lances of fire out to strike the figure. Markos staggers back with an angry, pain-filled expression, as all four blasts of flame hit home. "How dare you!" He shouts in surprise that anyone would dare harm him. As the flames subside though, you would see that he seems not to have gotten burned, but some of the darkness around him seems to have been depleted. Only now, that the darkness is gone, can you tell that it was there to begin with, but his protections seem much lessened by the fire attack. (Mechanically the 31 HP of temp HP he had from False Life is depleted to only 3 temp HP.)
Markos glares at Windlass, catching her eye as he sends visions of death and pain into her mind. Please give me a DC 16 Cha save... Markos targets one creature he can see within 30 feet of him and opens its mind to a secret of Erebos. The target must succeed on a DC 16 Charisma saving throw or be frightened of Markos until the end of its next turn.
Io
Windlass has sent blasts of fire into the strange figure. Those seem to have depleted some of Markos's protections for the moment. You also saw Markos hold Windlass's eye for a moment, though do not know what was done as Windlass held her head in obvious discomfort. We won't know how it affected her until she shows signs of repelling the mental attack or not. For now though, it is your turn to act.
Io shouts, "To arms!" and charges toward the cultist of Erebos. Upon reaching swinging distance of him, Io raises his sword up high though he doesn't bring it down on the man. Instead he causes a ghostly light to emit from it for a brief moment before angry spirits appear and begin flying about, harassing and attacking Markos.
Move: 20ft to get into melee range of Markos. Action: Cast Spirit Guardians. Party members are designated to be unaffected. At the start of Markos' turn, he takes 10 Radiant damage. WIS15 for half. While within 15ft of Io, Markos' speed is halved.
And here is a map. The zombies on it are looking just like corpses right now, laying prone on the floor and not moving. I also forgot to put the alter in this one, but will add it in the next. The zombies go after Kanlos, so this is no big give-away that they are there, Io and Kanlos though won't know they are true undead for this turn though. Map
((Wait... will Zombie1 be effected by Spirit Guardians even though Io doesn't know they are true undead because he only designated his fellow Party members as not being effected. Thus everything else would be effected by Spirit Guardians?))
Io moves forward, brandishing his weapon, but, instead of attacking, he casts a spell. Angelic figures swirl up around him, glowing with radiant light.
Kanlos
Kanlos, battle has been joined. Windlass has sent blasts of flame at Markos, and is now holding her head as if having seen something terrible. Windlass is clearly frightened of Markos now. Io though has strode forward and is calling on his divine magic to cause angelic beings to swirl around him. It is now your turn to act...
Kanlos sends an arrow flying,, straight and true. It lodges in Markos's side, and causing him to bellow in pain and outrage. "You dare to harm a chosen of Athreos’s! You will pay dearly for this sacralige." Markos is bleeding from the wound, and looks bloodied at the least, though he clearly has a good deal of fight left in him.
Zombies
Six of the corpses around the chamber lumber to their feet and start shuffling towards the group. Only #1 and #3 are able to attack this round, though #2 moves in to threaten Windlass as well, but cannot attack. Slam vs Io. Attack: 9 Damage: 6 Slam vs Xerronios. Attack: 19 Damage: 4
Xerronios
Io, Windlass, and Kanlos have taken the fight to the strange figure in the chamber. Windlass appears to have been frightened of the figure somehow, while Io has called up spectral angelic figures around himself. Kanlos though drew first blood, sending an arrow in and finishing the removal of the defenses that Windlass depleted. Now though six zombies have joined the fight, one of which just attacked you. Combat is joined, what do you do now, as it is your turn to act...
((Since Zombie 1 started his turn inside the AoE of Spirit Guardians, should he take damage even though Io didn't know it was a zombie? Io didn't designate it as being unaffected when he cast the spell.))
Yes, thanks for the reminder. The zombie will have taken damage, have you rolled that yet? I'll go back and look, but please roll it if you have not done so yet.

Windlass CHA save: 5
ooc: Has it been a minute since the heroism was cast? If not, everyone by Xerronios is immune to being frightened.

Yes this has expired.
