@Brencharis you also note that the top of the tower is exposed to the air and something large just passed by the arrowslit facing you, but you only caught a glimpse of movement, not what it was.

Cal pol, feels a sense of disorientation as he follows along. It’s clear to him however this is a tense moment and trouble could be ahead.
cautiously he casts Divine sense to see if he can get a read of any big trouble.
“The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell.”
Prentiss takes a closer look at the window and it appears to be blocked by a two foot section of green scales.
CalPol pauses to get a Divine Sense of the Area that they are within but picks up neither celestial, fiend or undead in his radius nor does the area seems specifically Hallowed or Desecrated.
Velshir responds, "Poking it only serves our purposes if we can make it believe that it is the cultists' doing. But I have an idea. I can burst into the building, shout out "Now's our chance, attack the beast!" and then you poke it. And then we run! Give me a minute to get into position, then send another message when you're ready, and that will be our sign to act! We should regroup at the Western end of town, where we first entered the town, where the signs were at. Can you message the others to hurry in that direction?"
Having said this, Velshir will position himself at the Northern door.
Velshir moves forward carefully to the northern cottage door as he sends his reply. Prentiss stands ready to stab at the green scales pressed against the arrow slit nearest him receiving a response from the monk. Brencharis stands alert and can still see Prentiss but has lost sight of Velshir as he rounds the outer wall of the tower. CalPol's Divine Sense fades with nothing detected.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Brencharis is going to quietly make her way over to where Prentiss is hiding. "Alright, I'm guessing Velshir is working on whatever his part of the plan is? I don't think we ever got a disguise to make it look like the cult is trying to kill the dragon."
As Velshir stands near the northern door, he hears urgent whispering inside, "You said they were right behind us! You two go look." He hears some sort of acknowledgement and movement within further into the room and moving away.
"Yes" says Prentiss to Brencharis "I'm just waiting for the signal from our monk and then it's scale-poking at will. This is a pretty tight plan, I can't see it going wrong"
Velshir senses that things have the potential to get chaotic. He quickly dons his mask as he considers what to do next. He decides to run quickly counter-clockwise around the building, ducking under the window, and stopping at the SW corner. If he gets there before those inside get out to check, then he will quickly motion for Prentiss (if he’s in view) to move back and try to hide.
Velshir skirts around the building along the west outer wall, slipping under the window and to the SW corner of the cottage. As he waves to try to get Prentiss and Brencharis' attention, he realizes that they might not spot him not expecting him to show on that side to get his warning but tries urgently. (about 1 foot of space at that corner between wall and brush)
CalPol has lost sight of Velshir and Brencharis has moved to stand with Prentiss, what do you do?
Brencharis is hanging back, keeping an eye for anyone sneaking up on Velshir or Prentiss.

"Wait one, I just heard something" says Prentiss to Velshir, before looking up at the window.
Velshir sends back, “We’ll have to go in the structure if we want to accomplish any more here.”

"We might have a problem, our scaly friend appears to be inside the tower" says Prentiss over the Message spell.
"I have a clear shot and it can't see me, want me to give it a poke?"
