Each coffer contains a wrapped bundle of silk containing broken and shattered bones and teeth, each bundle is accompanied by a small stone tablet in sanskriti with a name, date, position and manner of death.
Krikoris moves over curiously, "A common funerary practice?"
As Krikoris examines the bundles he realises that their ceremonial preparation would make them useful as sorcerous supplies. ( Each coffer can be used to replace up to 500 gp of components for Necromancy spells and rituals).
Krikoris shrugs and looks to the others, "Not my style of magic, but these can be used for certain forms of magics if anyone is interested, although some may not approve."
This corridor comes to an end and there seem to be no hidden ponts of egress, backtracking to the last intersection the companions head onwards.
This section of corridor is lit by a single flickering torch, guttering even now.
There is an ornate but perished mahogany door in the left wall and another plain door 10m on at the end of the corridor, otherwise you can backtrack into the main chamber through which you entered this part of the complex and take the northern egress from that chamber. Or head east and leave this part of the complex altogether.
Mal gives a thumbs up back to Krikoris, and opens the door slowly, peeking in but not entering. "No polished stone over here, po, but it is open."
There is a single oil lamp burning very low in the centre of the floor and in its faint light Mal is able to make out shelves of scrolls with a number of scrolls scattered about on the floor, there is a faint scent of rot in the air.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Before entering the room, Mal takes a look around for anything that looks dangerous or like a trap. His suspicions are raised by seeing a lighted lamp, but he's not entirely sure what he's looking for given the variety of things they've faced so far.

Unlike most of the other chambers, this one has clearly been disturbed.....though the guttering lamp is the most obvious sign there are certainly others.
There are six sagging wooden shelf-sets arrayed around the walls of the rectangular chamber.
Most of the scrolls and codexes on the shelves here have long since fallen prey to the humidity, but someone has clearly gone through the mess and picked out the ones that could still be read. At a glance, most of the scrolls seem to be religious topics written in the ancient Sanskriti tongue, though a few are Lokanan notes some in very fresh ink indeed.....

Can Mal read the tablets?

Yes, they are an archaic script but he can puzzle them out.
eg.
Janang Serenti, Third Day of Ahsadha, Court Mystic, Flayed and Rent Asunder.

"These look like they belonged to people of status, but who ended... poorly."
"Maybe we should press on, we do not have all long."

Khutulun creaps over to the mahogany door and tries to see of she can see/hear anything beyond.

Meanwhile, Mal goes to listen at the plain door.

Khutulun hears nothing within the door, the gap under the door seems to reveal a floor made of dark shiny reflective stone....
Mal listens at the door hearing nothing, but as he leans against it to listen in swings inward slightly, apparently not closed or locked.
Krikoris gives Mal a thumbs up and a questioning look.
Khutulun whispers back, "The floor behind this door is highly polished stone..."

Mal grabs the notes and holds on to them for later. He'll meet back up with Khutulun at her door. "Should I check this one for traps?"
Mal grabs an armful of scrolls and notebooks and, heading out to the other door gives it a look over, it appears to be locked but not trapped.
"Probably a good idea" she indicates and moves out of the way.
