As Krikoris follows carefully and quietly along, he uses his magic to dim the torch as much as possible while still keeping it lit and lighting the tunnel a short ways ahead.
Jupp staying to the back will motion for the others to move ahead of him as he hasn't been having the best luck staying quiet and will take a moment to move a little back in the tunnel and find a stone along the ground then touch it and cast light creating a very low red light incase we have to rush back this way
Looking ahead at the edge of the torchlight the tunnel opens out into a room, before this there are two swollen wooden doors one on each side of the tunnel.
The sound is almost certainly coming from somewhere beyond the room.
Carefully, so as to make as little noise as possible, Mal opens the door.
The stone walls of this storeroom are black with an inch-thick mold that swells in streaks and ridges from ceiling to floor. It has a velvety sheen to it, and sometimes it almost seems to pulse in the flicker of torchlight.
A number of brittle wooden crates have collapsed revealing rusting iron chains, rusted iron ingots, and crumbling sheets of decaying leather, they sit on low stone shelves that run around the walls of the room.
Mal wrinkles his nose in disgust, then moves quietly over to the other door and opens that as well.
Peering within in the faint torchlight he noted decaying implements of iron, bronze and rotten leather, and mold fill this room. Several wicked looking hooks lined the walls and there were spiked racks and collapsed wooden tables stained with black. A pile of human bones caked in the black mold lay beneath one of the hooks.
A door was visible at the end of the room in the eastern wall.
"Not my temples, po - this is not of my people, it's far too old. We only started coming here recently. The sound was coming from further up ahead, but there's a door over there - do you want me to see what's behind it?" Mal grabs a rag and ties it around his face to keep from breathing in too much of the mold.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mal will (1) stealthily tiptoe in, (2) listen at the door at the opposite end for noises, and if he hears nothing, he'll (3) check it for traps and try to open it.

Malambing slips like a shadow into the room and even his keenest eyed companions lose sight of him.
Listening at the door he hears nothing and checking it over it is swollen in the frame but he is able to gently tease it open without disturbing the mold growth upon it.
Looking within he sees a chamber lined with at least a hundred small pigeonholes, each of which contains a parchment scroll. Most of the pigeonholes have been filled with the black mold, and the scrolls have perished to the rot.
One legible scroll is unrolled on a central worktable table, covered with tight, neat though faded Sanskriti script.
If you speak Primordial you will be able to puzzle out its meaning:
The scroll records the torture of a Gurunam laborer who was thought to have conspired to steal the High Archakas Serpentine Kapala. While the labourer was subjected to flensing, hot irons, and brass claws during the interrogation, the interrogator seems to consider the prospect of being a subject of the Kapala’s power after death to be the most horrid torment, a fate against which the labourer vainly begged for mercy.
Mal alerts the others to what he hears without a word, motioning for them to continue ahead slowly and carefully.
He'll continue ahead stealthily, trying to get a bead on the source of the sounds. Stealth: 25

Mal stops at the door on the left side of the tunnel, and listens carefully. Can he hear anything coming from behind it?

Krikoris douses his torch and readies himself to call forth his magics upon whoever might be inside.
There is no sound from the other side of this door.

Krikoris glances around the rooms, "A storeroom for a smithy maybe? And perhaps a torture room for this one? Is this common for your temples?"
"Not my temples, po - this is not of my people, it's far too old. We only started coming here recently. The sound was coming from further up ahead, but there's a door over there - do you want me to see what's behind it?" Khutulun nodes and does the same to cover her face (if she can).
"Yes lets check it so we at least know what could be this way."

Jupp will follow behind the group next to Krikoris and just offhandedly mention "what a waste of a room"
