Kal takes a glance towards the stairs, absent mindedly rubbing at one of the recent wounds he's received. "I'm inclined to think those stairs might lead us up to the temple. We might be able to catch ourselves a guilty priest, and avoid dealing with the tunnels again."
Silthras winces and, with a glance at Velyra, says, "Assuming the whole temple is not corrupt."
He had never been clear as to what Velyra's vision really meant -- the spreading darnkess might have related to these tunnel; it seemed unlikely to him that every temple in the city was corrupt, but that seemed to be what she believed. The signals from the high priestess had not been clear; perhaps she was just protecting the reputation of the temple, or perhaps she was part of the corruption.
One thing was clear: traveling though the tunnels with a dozen tired and ill children would be slow and fraught with danger.
He turns to Velyra and Usul, "Do you truly believe that the majority of the temple is corrupt? And, Usul, do you how do you feel about a little exploration above -- either you or your friend?"
"We've gotta get all these guys back to Ma to be safe,"Usul says. "Do we think we're safe now. Does anyone know we're down here? Did any of them get away?"He then also grabs one set of robes, the smallest set, and places it in his bag to get fit to his size later
Velyra begins to nod, and then shrugs instead. "I think it's safe to assume that most, if not all of the leadership is corrupted. Difficult to make a guess about the rank and file."
Silthras continues to regard Usul, "I think I understand your reluctance, but if there is a way to get the children out without braving the tunnels, then I think that would be for the best. If the stairs lead to the heart of the temple then..." he pauses, looking toward the exit, "...then we may need to brave the tunnels. But if it leads to an open area, it may be our best shot."
Usul ponders for a few seconds and says, “yeah… that is true. Maybe there are some exits to the streets. Then we can blend in easily to get safe.”Then taking a determined breath adds, “Ok ok. So where should we go?” At this Dib pops up to his shoulder also looking ready to continue on.
"Usul, if you want I've got enough power left to make you invisible again." Sylnora interjects before he can leave up the stairs. "I'm worried this complex might be larger than we think. There could be a lot more enemies above us right now. So I'd like to do what I can to keep you safe."
If the gnome agrees, she happily casts Invisibility on him, also opening up a mental link with her Psi Crystal.
“For now keep your magicks.”Usul says, adding, “There are other ways for us to blend in.” He then places a hand on his chest as a steam shimmers around his body changing his appearance to that of a halfling who has seen some terrors, wearing the same robe and accoutrements as the cultists they just fought with. He then heads towards the stairs as Dib ducks into his robes.

Silthras looks in the direction of the stairs that the cultist fled to. "I think there is only one way up," he says, pointing.
@DM: Is that right? Just one way out?
