Great that lizard again. Dolgrim turns to the miners and Don-Jon You guys better hide. If he manages to grab you, you're gone. Meanwhile he grabs his shield and assumes defensive pose. We should rush to the town, they'll need help.
(Should have only been Barthrum who noticed the dragon, but nvm. I'll just assume he told the others before their responses, and after their attention was directed that way, they noticed too.)
Don-Jon and the Dwarves seem to understand the situation. "Don't worry about us, we'll hide." Don-Jon answers and they all run off the road. Meanwhile, the dragon flies closer. It will probably arrive at the town in ten seconds, more or less. You three approached the town from the north, while the dragon is coming from the east. If the dragon noticed you, it doesn't make any sign of that. It still flies towards the centre of the town.
The fear of the dragon fills Thenmer, he remembers the fear and he remembers his dreams of fear. Suddenly he realises what those dreams mean.
"We can't fight and beat a dragon but maybe we can catch it unawares and the shock of that will drive it off for now. I can let you be unseen so you can catch it by surprise? I can't think of anything else we can do that might be enough to make it want to leave, can you?"
Yeah, I don't think we can fight it here. In the open terrain where the lizard can use its wing, we have no chance. But trying to scare it as you say might work. We should also help the townsfolk get to safety if possible.
While Thenmer and Dolgrim remain behind to consider a plan, Barthrum is already dashing towards the town. Meanwhile, the dragon keeps flying at a great speed, and it's obvious it'll reach in a few seconds. (You can find a map of Phandalin on the first page of this thread.) Barthrum is just passing by Barthern's Provisions while the others are 50' behind him. The town's centre, where the dragon seems to be headed to, is about 100' away from Barthrum, who can now see that many people are there. Some of them noticed the dragon and began to panic, running away to find shelter. Though few, there are some who havn't realised why everyone is panicking and are still going about their business, unaware of the incoming threat.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Barhtrum points and screams, "DRAAAAAGOOOOOOON" and continues running, hoping it may either draw the attention of the dragon away from the people or let the people know what's happening. Or both. The scream manifests itself as a guiding bolt aimed at the dragon: Attack: 15 Damage: 16
Well, I'd better go make sure he doesn't gets himself eaten. Do you think you'll be fine if I leave you here Thenmer? Says Dolgrim and hesitantly runs in the direction of Barthrum. While running along the streets, Dolgrim helps the stumbling people, directing them indoors, hoping they won't at least get grabbed and carried away by the dragon. When he finally reaches barthrum: So do you have any plan? IF we want to fight it, we must get it to the ground first!
Thenmer looks at the dragon and remembers its claws around his body
"I'm afraid of it but if you need to go in there I'll not abandon you"

What do you three do?

The moment Barthrum realizes the dragon is not coming for them he takes off at full sprint towards the town center

"Damn, damn, damn"
Thenmer mutters as he tries to find a decent spot
"Can't just let the hothead die. Can we?"
He pulls out his crystal and it begins to glow reddish as he feels deep inside and lets the glint of light in it become fire
(Ready action to cast fire bolt if the dragon goes after Barthrum)

"I'll try to cover you as best I can, I don't want to get into that thing's claws again"
Thenmer keeps moving to keep an clear shot on the dragon as his crystal glows hot with fiery magic.
