A cloud of lavender-scented purple smoke trails out of the shop’s door as you peer inside. Every wall is painted purple, and every dusty knickknack on the shelves is dyed a deep violet. The hairless old gnome sitting cross-legged on the counter wears plum-colored robes. His cheeks are decorated with nine purple face-painted eyes.
The gnome lowers a pipe and exhales a cloud of lavender smoke before raising a hand. “Hail and well met! Come browse the shelves of the most curious curiosity shop in the world!”
As you search the shop, you notice numerous trinkets, including
a metal can that has no opening but sounds as if it is filled with liquid,
a fan that when unfolded shows a sleeping cat
A sheet of parchment upon which is drawn a complex mechanical contraption
A scrap of cloth from an old banner with a Purple Dragon on it
An enormous dragon scale

"How much for the fan with the Fur Food on it?" Meep is intrigued by everything in the shop, and he's actively trying to avoid making eye contact with the big eyeball in the window that's winking at him.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the group traveled along, Delmalis would have tried to stay as far away from Lussa as politely possible. Arriving at the shop, he would have followed his friend in, looking around the contraption would have caught his eye and he'd try to puzzle out what its supposed to be.
Khione, seeing the kobold scurry into a shop, decided to linger for a moment. She had something she wanted to say to the little guy, some questions for him, but she also did not trust the stuffed beholder that blinked slowly. If it was blinking, did that mean it was alive?
It being alive wasn't good at all.
And so she lingered, hand on the pommel of her sword still, her eyes periodically darting between the moving party and the kobold, and the companion he'd identified as Delmalis.

Sybil steps into the shop, looking for possible old relics and artifacts hidden among the stock before turning to shopkeeper.
"If I may inquire, we are looking for a friend of our who was in the area a few nights prior. We're quite worried about him. By any chance, have you come across him? He's a handsome human? man with red-blond hair with fair complexation,"

As most of the group heads into the store, Lussa will follow. Trying to stay out of the more serious shoppers' way, the banner and scale would catch her attention.
While the shopkeeper is answer the others' questions, she will examine the banner fragment and dragon scale.
History check: 5 -- to see if she recognizes the banner from her travels Investigation check: 16 -- to determine function of the dragon scale, and if it truly is from a dragon Insight check: 13 -- to determine relative ages of the items
Once the others have their answers, as appropriate, she will ask what he can tell her about the two items.

Twitch stood guard outside the store though they weren't particularly sure why.....but they amused themselves by imagining fighting those who walked past.
Demalis - you're not quite sure what the contraption might be, but it might be bipedal, like a mechanical person.
Wellin, your illusion goes off and makes a few folks uncomfortable, including a moustached man with a wide brimmed hat. "Well that's interesting," He pauses, looking at both the eye and the party, before leaving.
Khione - you get the sense that it's an illusion and you even see Wellin moving his fingers.
Lussa - you can't quite figure the origin of the scale, but you think it might be from the kingdom of Cormyr where the banner is a Purple Dragon. The scale is from a dragon, a red one. The age of the items vary but they are geniuine.
Sybil - Xoblob hears the question and nods. "I thought I saw him enter the Skewered Dragon a couple of nights ago. He was asking about the banner. I was on my way home. and stopped in for a drink He did meet a young friend, clean shaven after that braggart left. That's all I really know."

Delamis sets the schematic aside with a shrug, wondering why someone would want to build a person when the world seems full of them as it is. He'll follow his friend back outside and glance around the area, looking for anyone who might have noticed a rich man coming out of a bar.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lussawill follow along as the group exits. With the sun set and its glare gone, she will leave the hood of her cloak down. Her drow features will hopefully ward off troublemakers, and the better to keep an eye out for any potential dangers.
Xoblob smiles at Meep and grabs everything, including the mess that's crawling away. "Pleasure doing business with you."
OOC: If someone who hadn't replied in the shop wanted to buy something before they left, let me know and we can do a quick purchase before you catch up with the group.
The group continues through the Dock Ward with no incident. Passerbys seem to pay no mind to you. Demalis doesn't hear anything about a well-dressed man leaving the Dragon. Lussa hears whispers as well with some looking her way and even at Demalis. One person, an elven man dressed in robes, whispers to the woman next to him and asks," You think they're with him?" She replies to the man, "Stop, it's not polite to stare at people."
You reach the tavern with no incident.
The Skewered Dragon looks like a ruin. Both of its front-facing windows are smashed, and a ship’s anchor is lodged in the roof. Through the windows, you can see a group of haggard patrons drinking from huge tankards.
As you step inside, you see two tables that are occupied. One with three patrons, a human, an orc, and a bugbear, - all male - playing cards. The other table includes a brass dragonborn, two dwarves - all male - and a halfling woman. Behind the bar is a light-skinned man with long hair and elvish features. "More customers. Take a seat where you want."
Meep watches Twitch squatting on a stool, a little perplexed. He's absent-mindedly fanning himself with his Fur Food Fan, waiting to see what the bigger, more important members of the group decide to do. He doesn't see the man Volo wanted them to find, but most folks taller than a Dwarf were hard to tell apart.
