The half-orc pounces on the wolf in a way that most of his body will be in contact with the body of the wolf. He pins the wolf down and and bites the wolf’s ear with one of his tusks. He will, if successful quietly shush the wolf while also creating a low vibrating rumble/grumble that vibrates from deep within the half-orc yet can be felt by the wolf.
The half-orc presses his advantage on the grappled wolf. He will attempt to sharply bite the ear of the wolf, jabbing his tusk into the "alpha's" flesh listening for a yelp and looking or feeling for signs of submission.
All this while trying to maintain a position to give the wolf the fewest opportunities to bite or claw him and NO chance to break free to hurt anyone else.
(If the wolf submits and accepts that there is a new alpha in the cave, the half-orc will release his bite, adjust his grappling grip to grab at the nape of the wolf's neck - to simulate a mother's grip/carry of her cubs, and finally will look up to the party of newcomers, and especially the Paladin, with a look of. "Is this what you had in mind?")
(I'm going to assume that no one attempts to kill the starving beast as it makes its escape and move on?)
Gabriel's torch is on the dirt floor of the cave, still flickering though dim.
This natural cavern looks to be about 25' deep going East, not quite as wide. There's a pile of garbage and bones at the far end. The only way in or out seems to be from the creek side entrance you entered through. The path beside the creek continues further into the dark to the North.
There's also a half-orc with an iron collar and chain around his neck recovering from wolf wrestling.

Cail picks up the torch and hands it to somebody else.
"Are you ok?" Kathrine asks, moving to the half-orc's side. She kneels down, her hand going to his forehead to check for a temperature. "That was fairly impressive, the way you wrestled that beast." She glances towards the cave entrance, making sure the beast was not returning. "Who are you? How did you come to be chained up here?" She brushes her dark chestnut hair behind and ear as she waits for answers.
“My name’s Grzak. Are we near the Neverwinter Wood?”
His eyes crinkle as he tries to search his memory. His clothes are cut and torn and peaking through the garments are barely closed knife wounds that are caked with dried blood. He also stinks of the refuse pile he had been until recently chained near.
”I had been hunting/chasing an elk south out of the Neverwinter Wood and I remember crossing the old Triboar trail when I finally fell my quarry. I remember cleaning and cooking the meat. I remember feasting and celebrating my catch.”
A look of concern crosses his face.
”I vaguely remember losing my mind. Perhaps I didn’t inspect the mushrooms I had gathered closely enough. But sometime in the night during my revelry ... they ambushed me. Goblins, firelight, more goblins ... I was in no condition to resist.”
“The next thing I remember, they were questioning me in a cave.”
Grzak looks around confusedly. “Not this one.”
He continues to look around obviously confused.
”I don’t remember what they were even asking me, I was still too addled from the mushrooms. Then for the next couple of days they threatened to withhold food. But I was still digesting that half an elk. So over time they became enraged.”
Now a pained expression overtook Grzak’s face. “Then the cutting started. If they couldn’t get whatever information they wanted, they might as well make a sport out of my slow death. Most of the time they chattered in their filthy goblinish cackles but once in a while they spoke in a way I could understand. They planned on bleeding me out, carving me up and feeding me to their “pets”. I assume these wolves were their pets.”
“The pain was exquisite. They were efficient and cruel in their torture. I was brought almost to the point of unconsciousness when they suddenly stopped. Something else was distracting them. Was it them being told to go ambush someone else? I can’t be certain. I passed out. I woke up here to the growls of wolves and the cries of distant goblins. I don’t know how long I have been out. I don’t know where here is.”
Grzak grabs at his collar, “Can one of you free me from this?”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Taking the torch from Cail, and nodding his thanks, Gabriel moves closer to the half orc and tries to inspect the collar. "Not very good with these sorta things but lets hope to Tymora that it's goblin made and not to complicated."
"To answer your question you are near the town of phandalin, South of the Neverwinter woods." Gabriel says while try to inspect the collar. "My name is Gabriel Roycroft, the archer is Cail, the wizard over there is Alarion, that lovley woman is Katherine priestes of Eldath, and hiding in the shadows is Rowan. We are searching for a friend of mine Sildar Hallwinter who was taken prisoner by these goblins."

Wolf's dex check: isn't going to be enough at max roll, so...
Grzak tackles the wolf!
Sticking with this initiative order:
Wolf 19
Grzak 13
Alarion 12
Rowan 12
Gabriel 6
Katherine 3
Wolf's action was to disengage
Grzak's was to grapple the wolf
(I allowed for Katherine to throw beef jerky towards the entrance in reaction?)
Of course you can watch and wait instead of taking action.
Sorry, missed Cail:
Wolf 19
Grzak 13
Alarion 12
Rowan 12
Cail 7
Gabriel 6
Katherine 3
A half orc and a wolf in a wrestling match, yup Gabriel is standing back and watching this.
Should I mention 'food' again?
Cail's scones might come in handy?

I'll leave this one up to the dice: DC 15 Animal Handling check
(C’mon Helm, bless this check ... would really rather not have to kill this mistreated beast)
Animal Handling: 21
(I guess the stench of the half-orc was too much for the sensitive nostrils of the wolf)

With an infuriated snarl, twist and roll, the wolf breaks free of the hold.
The wolf swipes the beef jerky into its mouth while dashing out of the cave like a silver bullet.
The half-orc slumps to the floor and heaves a sigh as his rage leaves him.

I have a weird sense of humor.
I also make maps.(That's a link)
After a few deep breaths, the half-orc will ask the group,
"Where am I?"

Investigation check? 19
(OOC: thinking Tymora hates Gabreil, at least it wasn't a 1.....)
