Slink climbs the stairs to the upper level and stops by one of the suits of armor. She gives it a little knock on the leg hoping to hear a hollow sound. She eyes the carving on the doors..."more lovely carvings I see". She spots the picture..."where's the baby? The kids didn't say anything about a baby."
Sofia: Nothing really too unusual. Just a very nice, neat, empty house.
AREA 10 - Gossamer drapes cover the windows of this elegantly appointed hall, which has a brass-plated chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Upholstered chairs line the walls, and stained-glass wall hangings depict beautiful men, women, and children singing and playing instruments.
A harpsichord with a bench rests in the northwest corner. Near the fireplace is a large standing harp. Alabaster figurines of well-dressed dancers adorn the mantelpiece. Close inspection of them reveals that several are carvings of well-dressed skeletons.
Debauchery smiles at the macabre dancers. “Add that to the list of accessories for the keep,” he announced. “They’ll be great talking pieces at cocktail parties.” He moves over, running his fingers across the cords of the harp as he passes.

Felix shudders looking around. Under his breath he mutters, "Why on this good earth would you decorate like this? I am so ready to find that monster and be done. These people could learn something from my parents. THAT is saying something."
Looking more closely at the portrait, "I wonder, is the baby the monster? I know of plenty of families that think that of their kids and that can turn them into one."
Ava returns to the main hall and peeks through the door into 2B
"It seems there is nothing here as well. I feel like we're missing something..." Sofia ponders to herself as she moves towards the other end of the floor (Room 8)
Red velvet drapes cover the windows of this room. An exquisite mahogany desk and a matching high-back chair face the entrance and the fireplace, above which hangs a framed picture of a windmill perched atop a rocky crag. Situated in corners of the room are two overstuffed chairs. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves line the south wall. A rolling wooden ladder allows one to more easily reach the high shelves.
The desk has several items resting atop it: an oil lamp, a jar of ink, a quill pen, a tinderbox, and a letter kit containing a red wax candle, four blank sheets of parchment, and a wooden seal bearing the a family’s insignia (a windmill).
The bookshelves hold hundreds of tomes covering a range of topics including history, warfare, and alchemy. There are also several shelves containing first-edition collected works of poetry and fiction.
Oricoril will spend a lengthy time in the library. Looking through the books and checking the shelves for anything that might be a loose or obviously out of place. He'll use the ladder to check the structures of the book cases. "Alas, I am starting to wonder what all the fuss is about, I may be speaking to soon but perhaps there's something else that's wrong besides a 'monster'. One thing for sure, this family seems odd and dysfunctional."
"I would agree that the monster isn't the only issue here. We haven't been super quiet and yet we have seen no sign of anyone." Felix follows Oricoril and looks over the books, especially keen on anything they see regarding wolves, bats, or skeletons.
Debauchery breaks the quiet with an abrupt outburst. “Well, this place is just downright spooky,” he blurts out. “Where art thou, monster? Come out and play with us!”
He holds his position, blades drawn and slowly spinning about. After a few moments, he stops, shrugs and looks to the others. “Well...where to now?”

Slink leans against the doorframe, looking around. "Yeah, all this quiet is eerie. I hope we find this monster soon so we can get the hell out of here. Are we done up here yet?"
"They have hidden a basement should the children to be believed quiet well. Let us finish the upper floors exploration and then scour this place for a way down. It could be the children do not know of what they speak, young minds are easily tricked," Felix says with a voice of remorse and of understanding.
Debauchery follows closely behind Slink, blades ready, knowing his outburst may not have drawn out "the monster," but likely alerted anyone in the home that someone was here.

An undecorated bedroom (area 7A) contains a pair of beds with straw-stuffed mattresses. At the foot of each bed is an empty footlocker. Tidy servants’ uniforms hang from hooks in the adjoining closet (area 7B). A dumbwaiter in the corner of the west wall has a button on the wall next to it. This is the area that Zoldier's familiar checked out earlier.

Perception check
Slink: The children are indeed still outside. They stare at you from the ground, looking up at you. It's kinda creepy.
Where to?

The books and the shelf seem to be nothing but that. It's very strange. It's too quiet in here.

"Very well, let's wrap this up." Slink heads to 7A pushes the door open and strides in without caution.

AREA 7A - SERVANTS ROOM
An undecorated bedroom (area 7A) contains a pair of beds with straw-stuffed mattresses. At the foot of each bed is an empty footlocker. Tidy servants’ uniforms hang from hooks in the adjoining closet (area 7B). A dumbwaiter in the corner of the west wall has a button on the wall next to it. This is the area that Zoldier's familiar checked out earlier.
Still pondering, Oricoril will kick the bookcase and try to move it around to see if it sounds hallow or has something behind it. Investigation: 16
"I'm usually not one for force, but perhaps we should make a little more noise to stir things up... see if something arises?"
The bookcase sounds pretty solid, when you kick it, the books rattle like you'd expect, but nothing out of the ordinary happens.
