Kaemgen just shakes his head and starts wandering over as well. This is going to be just like that Durendiose mission, he thinks to himself with a sigh.

Vorkaz calls out in his rough voice, "Hold good sir. We simply saw your campfire smoke and were hoping to share the evening with some other travelers and part as friends in the moring. What happened to you? Your sleep seemed most strange."
The woman's head snaps over to the new voice, initially looking terrified of Vorkaz's looming figure but calming slightly at his words. She continues to nudge her armored companion and try to wake her. "I... I don't know. We set camp for the night, and all of a sudden everything got hazy, and I guess we all passed out? I had the weirdest dream..."She looks around and appears to register the position of the sun in the sky, then the dwindling fire. "Gods, how long has it been?"
At this point, Sael, for the sake of expediency we'll say you finish casting your spell. You notice a very faint aura of divination magic around the base of the campfire.
Kaemgen walks to the far edges of the camp, about 30 feet out or so. He does a cursory glance at the people there, now that he is closer, but pays far more attention to the area outside the camp - The tree line or any other place someone could be around without being seen.

"Strange dream, you said?" Sael asks, stepping a few feet closer to peer at the campfire. "There is magic here," she points to the base of it, looking up at the people curiously. "Did you cast it?"
Alyyja approaches slowly, hands at her sides one with the viol the other the bow. She explains to the merchant what day of the week it is. “Have you been unconscious for more than a day? Is there anything you are missing?”
Ianric smirks softly at their confusion, shaking his head as he says "Not sure, we just were passing through. Wanted to make sure you lot weren't hostile. Or at least whatever is wrong with you isn't contagious or anything like that."
The woman furrows her brow at Sael's question. "No, none of us are capable of that. Do you have any idea what it does?"Her question sounds less out of curiosity and more out of worry about what happened. After hearing Alyyja's explanation, she responds, "It's been a whole day, then. We made camp at around this time last night."She glances around the campsite, then pats down her pockets. "It doesn't look like anything's gone. I'll have to inspect the cart, but it looks just as full as I last saw it."
As this conversation is happening, Anne, the armored woman, begins to stir more and more until she finally wakes. "Cass? What happened?"She asks groggily, peering at you all through half-closed eyes.
Kaemgen, likely on the very edge of hearing the conversation, calls out "If the magic is located on a spot there by the fire I'd suggest you all grab up you stuff and relocate away from the fire/magic for further chit chat!"
He's still keeping an eye on the surroundings, wary that this could still be some kind of trap. He doesn't suspect so as much as he's just been trained to always consider the worst case possibility.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Alyyja runs through the magics she knows and has heard of to see if she knows what might have been placed here to cause this. In the meantime she says to Anne, “We are all trying to figure exactly that out, Anne. Was there a fire pit here when you arrived or a fire ready made to burn by chance”
Sael shakes her head, peering closer at the base of the campfire. "It is divination in nature," she explains, then shakes her head. "I am not...As learned as some in the finer ways of magic." She knew only druidic magic, really, which was much more innate. "Those are good questions," she nods to Alyyja. If it had already been there, it suggested a trap of some sort, perhaps. If not, then it was an odd mystery indeed. Sael did love a mystery.
Anne shakes her head. "We built the fire ourselves. I don't recall there being anything here when we arrived."
Cass stands unsteadily and makes her way over to her other two companions. It takes her a minute, but she manages to rouse them both, and they start collecting their things into the wagon.
Alyyja, as you're pondering what this could be, your eyes catch on a small piece of wood that has fallen out of the fire and is relatively undamaged. On it, moss grows in a strange spiraling pattern. You recall learning about magical plants and herbs that are sometimes used for potions or spells. When used improperly, they can cause unpredictable, sometimes dangerous effects.
Alyyja walks over and picks up the piece of wood examining it closely for a moment before asking, “Did you notice this moss on much of the rest of the wood you used? With this pattern, it is likely to be a spell component or reagent for potions and a likely explanation.”
Ianric leans a bit over Alyyja, obviously intrigued by the magic but not weighing in. He had scribbled runes in giant a few times but never actually managed to imbue any magic into them so he was by far no expert. Besides that he couldn't think of a suitable exaggeration to make himself look good in a statement so better to just listen and see if he might be able to glean something.
“May gap staying away from it is sufficient? We could just find some other camp and be careful of what we burn. Unless you think this was intentional?” Kaemgen asks asks, Magic’s always bothered something deep inside him.

"I honestly can't remember,"Anne replies to Alyyja with a shrug."We weren't paying that much attention." To Kaemgen, she says, "I don't see how it could have been intentional. Somebody would have had to know where we were making camp and scatter the firewood around in advance in hopes that we'd use it. Even then, what would be the purpose of knocking us out, other than to rob us?"
Vorkaz, the pattern of the moss definitely isn't natural, but beyond that, you fail to recognize anything about it.
Sael, as a note, the unburnt piece of wood has no magical aura. It's only the pieces in the campfire that do.
The other three merchants finish packing what few belongings they had out back into their wagon, and Cass returns over to the group."We're ready to leave when you are."
Sael nods to campfire, "it is the burning, I think. Only those in the fire give off magic." Oh, but she is sorely tempted to sleep here and see what dreams might take her. But no, the safety of the group is far more important than her academic curiosity. She sighs, casting another look towards the fire, then shrugs.
"With divination," she tells Anne, "it could be someone keeping an eye on you." Though why the odd dreams? She had odd dreams every now and then, but she'd been aware of the reason since childhood.
"Well that is settled then! Fare thee well, don't get killed or try to kill us!" Not having been terribly interested in this odd occurrence to begin with Ianric was ready to hit the hay for the night should his group be ready.
“I believe they’re coming with us to camp for the night,” Kaemgen says, looking over at Ianric. “They’ve been through enough, least we can do is share a fire and some protection with them.”
“Unintentional or not, I say we return to where we were originally going to camp rather than stay here. Why tempt fate? And we weren’t far at any rate...”
if no objections then Kaemgen will help everyone return to the bands first camp choice. On the short journey he’ll also work at setting up two person watches through the nite. If the new people are required to pull a shift he’ll try to be sure Ianric or himself are paired with them...
