Luc looks to Henri nervously, and looks back to Tine. "Sure. Henri, you've got this, right?" Henri nods, and Luc leads Tine downstairs for a drink, leaving Henri with Lia upstairs. Eira, you and Metzger are able to leave the room without drawing attention to yourself.
"Can I meet up with you later for that drink?" Lia asks Henry after the others have passed by, leaving the room. "I'd love to hear all about your heroic deeds, I am sure you have some wonderful tails to tell..." Lia smiles up at Henry, giving him her attention.
Eira will mouth a quick 'good luck' to Lia as Henri bids his farewell, and lets his hopes be clear. "Apologies, Henri. I've got to have a quick chat with Lia, then she's all yours. Sound good?"

Lia smiles at Henry. She steps away, trailing fingers down his arm to his elbow, then letting them slip away. "tonight then." She agrees. Then she turns and moves away, putting a little sway in her walk as she walks off with the others.
When she's able, Eira will try to get everyone together privately to show them the note. "It's a receipt from Clamor. Odd that he'd order himself a hopeknife with an engraving for himself, as I didn't really see him as egotistical, y'know? And didn't we hear that he used his own hopeknife to commit the deed?"
"It might be a good idea to possibly either look into the blacksmith, and see if anyone there may have any clue why Rodrik ordered the hopeknife. Otherwise, if we could find the knife used in the killing, we could see if it matches up with the receipt here. Unless anyone has any better ideas."

"Checking in with the smith is likely a good next step." Lia agrees as she studies the receit. She bites her lower lip in thought as she considers things. "Not sure we can get in to see the knife, not without some sort of official backing on that one." She looks to Tine with a smile. "Doubt if we can charm our way through to the knife, though it might be fun to try."
Tine just smiles looking at Luc as she pulls him to a table that is within ear shot of the three trying to listen to any conversation that may be going on.
As the party makes their way downstairs, Kurst notices Eira, and approaches the party. "Eira, thank the gods. Do you have a moment to talk? No doubt you've heard... Heard about my brother. They say it's a suicide, but that doesn't seem right to me. He wouldn't have... couldn't have..." It looks like he's holding back tears.
Eira will turn to look at Kurst, and nods. "Aye, we have a moment." As he continues, she furrows her brow, and will fetch out the receipt she found earlier. "My companions and I weren't convinced of it, either. We may have done some... snooping... in his room."
She'll look to Lia. She did mention that getting clearance to check out the knife would be tough, but Kurst might lend some officiality to the search, being a militia member of rank and brother to the deceased man. She'll hand the receipt over. "If you're not convinced about the 'suicide', we're all more than willing to pick up the search, if that's what you're wanting to ask us. Though I did want to ask your opinion on this receipt we found. We're having trouble trying to figure out the purpose, and am curious to see your thoughts on it."

"Yep, we don't believe it at all." Lia says with a firm nod. She runs a hand through her silky mass of white-blond hair as she glances around. Seeing no one else paying attention to them, she turns back to the group. "We would like to get a look at the weapon used in the murder, but we likely can't get even close to it on our own. Can you aid us in that?"
"Aye, I can get you to the weapon. We're holding it at the garrison. I can get you to the body as well, it's being held at the sanctuary until... until the funeral."
Kurst looks at the receipt and shakes his head. "Rodrik had a... fiance that he'd been keeping secret. He didn't want our father to find out about her as she is a half-orc. Brinya is her name. Brinya Kelver. I imagine that they were going to exchange hopeknives, and that this engraving would be on his, but... why would he have the receipt?"
Kurst sighs. "Thank you for your offer to help. It means a lot to me. Obviously, my father would normally be heading this investigation, but he is in no condition to do so right now. I'd suggest questioning Cham, too, if you get the chance."
"We will do everything we can to get to the bottom of this." Lia says, laying a hand on Kurst's arm. "Just make sure that we are not held back due to red tape, and things will be much much easier on us." She gives him a tender smile. "You also should give that Henry, who is watching over your brother's room, a bit of a bonus, he is staying on duty there like a good soldier."
Eira will nod approvingly. "Part of me wonders if we might need to follow up with miss Kelver to see if she has any idea why he commissioned a new hopeknife. I think our order of business should be to obtain the knife, then have a chat with Brinya. I don't know if examining the body is really going to tell us much at this point, but we can stop by there after if we need."

And with that, she'll try to leave the room, hoping that Tine and Lia are providing a decent distraction!

"don't see any reason to see the body." Lia says with a glance to the others. "The weapon would be our best bet, as that might tell us something."
