When I get to the equipment page, it gives me the options for starting weapons and armor. Other than that, nothing; none of the equipment provided by my Standard of Living.
Okay, I thought, I'll just select it manually. Only none of it is there. No backpacks, bedrolls, etc. I thought, that's strange, that's all standard equipment in the core rules. Maybe it's because I have only Free League sources selected on the character builder. So I went back and added the Core Rules and 2014 Core Rules as sources. Still no equipment. In fact, filtering to just the Core Rules provides only a Necklace of Prayer Beads and a Ring of Invisibility. Filtering to just the 2014 Core Rules provides only Sending Stones.
Filtering to just the Free League sources there are a number of what I assume are unique equipment items: Bowls, Clarinets, etc. Apparently, only unique items from the Armours, Weapons, and Tools lists from the LOTR book. But none of the regular adventuring equipment.
Did you maybe have the "Magical" filter enabled? That would set it to show only magic items (like Necklace of Prayer Beads) and not mundane equipment (like Bowls).
I'm able to add both Bowls and Clarinets to my own character.

Same. Loaded up my Lord of the Rings character on D&D Beyond...
Searched for Bowl and I see (and this is with nothing checked) - so definitely seems to be working.

No, I double-checked all my filters. But the problem seems to have resolved itself when I closed the character and opened it up again.
Deciding if I should buy the source book here digitally to get access to the character sheets for my players. It's not clear form the thread above if it's worth it. Remaining issue? Is it worth it?
I don't believe D&D Beyond's Lord of the Rings 5e has the map that's in the back of the book - with is vital for showing what is Border, Wild, Dark lands, etc.
I see the map in the game (under Journey) and I see the player's map version - but I don't see a version with this appendix on the map that's on the back of the physical copy of the book.
Can this please be added? I have the physical copy, which is why I never noticed it on the digital copy - but was just looking for it on the digital copy on here today and realized, I do not believe it's there (if it is, I am not sure where).

So - you don't get Lord of the Rings specific character sheets - just to be clear. You need to manually add the new skills Lord of the Rings introduces. Now, you do get access the the Callings (Class) and Cultures (Species/Races). But if you're looking for just the character sheet specifically - you'd need to do some manual work as noted in the first post. Now that said, I still think it's worth it, personally. It's not perfect (like when you create a character, it still has D&D's "Background" as an option that you need to ignore and select the proper Background in the right spot during character creation) - but if you let your players know that, it's easy.
You can also "cheat" - and if you create a campaign, you as the Lore Master (DM) create the character sheet - then clone and unassign the character sheet. Then your players will have all the skills already there from yours that you created - they just need to change the other details (name, Calling, Culture, stats)
Going to post this here too... because I wrote a long detailed message with customer support - and they sent me a generic message back, despite all of these details, verifying that they just sent a generic response without reading what I wrote... so let me share here... and hope one of the moderators steps up and makes this known (or if I am blind and can't seem to find it, happy to stand/sit corrected)...
To determine the nature of the event, the Loremaster must check the map to see in which region type the event is taking place, and then makes a d20 roll:
If it is within a Border Land, the roll is made with advantage.
If it is within a Dark Land, the roll is made with disadvantage
Would be impossible to understand what is Border or what is Dark Land.
Not all who wander are lost; but those that are wandering, may need to know the color codes on the map.

This chart is critical for the Journey segments.

Heh, between the holidays and the outage, just wanted to bump this (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/release-issues-support/211409-the-lord-of-the-rings-roleplaying-bug-and-support?comment=105) about the map key not being present in the D&D Beyond Lord of the Rings book.

That said - posted above - but for clarity....
So, the Lord of the Rings 5e content on D&D Beyond is missing a key to the map. In the back of the book (the physical copy I have) - there is a key that explains the various colors on the map (Border Lands = Green, Wild Lands = Yellow, Dark Lands = Orange, Impassible tokens, etc). This information is literally critical for doing anything with the JOURNEY portion of the Lord of the Rings game (see: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/lotrr/adventuring-phases#Journey) - the map here ( https://media.dndbeyond.com/compendium-images/lotrr/MBqg5ngVlqloGecp/map-4.01-eriador-hex.jpg ) does not have the extensive information that the map in the back of the book has - including those color coded maps. Without that - this step - https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/lotrr/adventuring-phases#DetermineEvent -
2. Determine Event
To determine the nature of the event, the Loremaster must check the map to see in which region type the event is taking place, and then makes a d20 roll:
Would be impossible to understand what is Border or what is Dark Land.
Not all who wander are lost; but those that are wandering, may need to know the color codes on the map.
Paraphrasing Gandalf.

Sauron appreciates the delay in getting the map fixed, but the player heroes still await.

Also a hexed "Player" map without the color coded danger areas filled in.
Gentle nudge as this still hasn't been addressed... Been three months almost since I first mentioned it (Dec 20, 2025 - https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/release-issues-support/211409-the-lord-of-the-rings-roleplaying-bug-and-support?comment=105)... One might think it'd be easy to (photoshop/edit) the Loremaster/DM version of the map to include what's missing...)
