ENABLING CONTENT FOR YOUR CHARACTER
To use content from Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting: Part 1 in the character builder, you will need to set the character preferences to include Loot Tavern source category (see the .gif below).
NEW SUBCLASSES
This book features four new subclasses that are compatible with 2014 and 2024 characters. These subclasses are mostly supported with the following exceptions:
School of Biomancy. The Endocrine Overload feature does not automatically override a characters Dexterity or Strength scores when activating on of the feature's two options.
NEW SPECIES
The book features five new species with five additional species options. These species are fully supported and compatible with 2014 and 2024 characters.
NEW FEATS
The book features 13 new feats. These feats are mostly supported with the following exception:
Prerequisites. Some of the new feats include prerequisites for proficiency in specific weapons. At this time D&D Beyond cannot set prerequisites for feats based on weapon proficiency. These feats include the text reminder for prerequisites, but characters without the prerequisites can learn the feats. These include:
Blade Barrier
Cat's Caress
Fearsome Flourisher
Scourge Master
Spray 'n' Pray
NEW SPELLS
The book features 30 new spells. These spells are mostly supported with the following exception:
School of Biomancy. This book includes a new school of magic called Biomancy. At this time D&D Beyond cannot support new schools of magic. The spell listings for these spells use the alternative schools of magic presented in the book and include a tag for "Biomancy".
NEW MAGIC ITEMS
The book features 39 new magic items with over 100 variations. These magic items are mostly supported with the following exceptions:
Actions on Magic Items. Some of the new magic items grant specific actions as part of their magic. D&D Beyond doesn’t currently support the ability to attach actions directly to magic items; we have included charges and associated spells where appropriate, but in the case that an item’s functionality is otherwise text-only, we recommend creating Custom Actions on the character sheet to represent those items.
Tome of Living Memories. Variations of this magic item include optional attunement spells. At this time D&D Beyond cannot support providing spells without attuning to an attuneable magic item.
NEW MUNDANE ITEMS
The book features 14 new mundane items with 13 being new weapons. These weapons, including the three new weapon properties, are fully supported with one exception:
Special Properties. Some of the new weapons include special properties unique to that weapon. At this time D&D Beyond cannot support these special properties within the character sheet. Each listing does include the text for special properties for ease of reference.
NEW MONSTERS
The book features 54 new monster stat blocks. These monsters are fully supported.
NEW CONDITION
This book features one new condition: Drunkenness. D&D Beyond is currently unable to support new conditions.
AVRAE
At the time of release this book is not supported through the discord bot, Avrae.
Love these subclasses, however I did find at least one bug to report for the Circle of the Hive subclass on my 2024 Druid (haven't checked if it's a bug for 2014 too). "At 3rd level, you learn the swarm cantrip." Unfortunately, this is not working as intended, and the Swarm cantrip is not being automatically added to my known/prepared spells. Is this because Swarm isn't listed again in the Spells at 3rd level alongside blur and web that is causing it to be missed? Regardless of the reason, it would be great to have that cantrip added as intended. Thank you!
When using the online character sheets: All of the Magitech guns are listed as melee weapons, and they all scale off of strength. I Hope this is not intentional. Test character is using the a level 1 blood hunter.
Creating a character with the Gobboc species and I'm missing where to handle the ability increases. The Gobboc Traits say Dexterity +2 and Charisma/Wisdom +1 (you pick). I'm not seeing that those are being added or where to pick Charisma or Wisdom for the +1.
If you're using a background from the 2024 rules, those increases are intentionally omitted (because you'll get the bonus from your background instead).
Otherwise, you'll make your choice on the Abilities tab, not the Species tab.

My biomancy wizard cannot access spells above 5th level, even when creating a 20th level character. He is also a Simic hybrid if that is causing an issue
Once again bumping that all spells and magical items link to the Legacy version. I went though all the ones in the Crafting rules, and they all link to Legacy items.
Public Mod Note
(spamandtuna):
Working as intended
There's no table for the Magitech Firearms, but you can search in normal DND Beyond to find the guns. Also none of the guns have any range on them at all, nor do they have a minimum Reload listed.
in fact i don't see a weapons table at all for the new weapons, so no costs either unless you search for the weapons.
Edit: I wish to clarify, there is a table to CRAFT them but nothing for actually purchasing them outright, unless again you simply search DnD Beyond for the listings. And the separate listings when you search for the items are missing Range and the actual Reload amounts (they list Reload but now how many shots they have).
I made a cyclopian character but the stat increases it's suppose to get are bugged.
My int doesn't get a +2 as described in the book(it shows up if I look at int on my character sheet but it's set to +0) and I don't even get an option to do a +1 to dex or wis, a friend of mine bought the book and is sharing it with a campaign we are in if that helps narrow down the issue.

This is also working as intended. Because the book was written using the 2014 SRD, the tooltips link to those rules.

The linked spells in the book all seem to point to the legacy 2014 versions, even where new versions are available.
Additionally, the Oath of the Harvest spells are not being automatically granted to 2024 Paladins, but are being granted to 2014 Paladins.
Can't have access the book at all, the link just takes me back to the marketplace.Forget it, it's all good now.Hello,

Unsure if this was a flavor text thing or something that didn't get added to the digital version of the book, but:
"Claws, twinblades, and nunchaku bring new finesse options and special properties to the table" -introduction paragraph of equipment section
The latter two are given the finesse property , but claws are not. I don't have a physical edition to verify if it was supposed to.
My biomancy wizard cannot access spells above 5th level, even when creating a 20th level character. He is also a Simic hybrid if that is causing an issue
This matches the physical book. Since the finesse property is not listed in the actual claws description, it is not included in DDB.

If you paired it with a 2024 background, then that’s working as intended. Per the rules, you’d use only the increase from the background in that case.
Otherwise, you should see the option on the Abilities tab, not the Species tab.

The Item Value column in this table shows the price for one that's already made.

I've let the devs know about the missing range and reload.
