Yeah, it does matter. People come into the game all the time without understanding of all the rules. When you have to tell a player "It doesn't work like that" and they respond with "But the website let me do it", it can be really frustrating for both the DM and the player when it should be a relatively simple fix.
If the DM permits all 3 bonuses to a score, that's a homebrew rule and should be handled with customization. Character creation is the one place I feel that should absolutely adhere to RAW to ease the way for new players with no experience and who may not have all the sourcebooks to fully understand the rules around character creation.

Gonna agree to disagree here. In the 20 years of playing D&D I've not yet once had a game where character creation was "strictly RAW", so I'm more appreciative of the flexibility.

I am not sure if it is something I am doing incorrectly, but I can't seem to select metamagic adept as an option for the gained feat in the modifiers section for a magic item.
Hello! I am having trouble adding the new fighting style of the Blessed Warrior to a charactersheet. I have enabled the content, but it seems that it doesnt show up as an option. I apologise if it is a my mere lack of proficiency with tech that creates the problem, or perhaps something I otherwise have missed. have a lovely day!
There's something odd happening there - thanks for letting us know!
I've set the fighting style for you - don't forget to go in and choose the two spells. 😊
I know it has been a while since this particular post, but I have an issue that is mostly likely related.
I do not own Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and thus should not be able to selected e.g. Blessed Warrior as a paladin fighting style.
Yet, I am. I even have "Optional Class Features" disabled, but it is still possible to selected Blessed Warrior, as well as option styles that should be optional.
Hi, I am unable to take the metamagic feat as an eldritch knight, am i missing something? Or is that feat turned off for this subclass?
I just checked and I can take Metamagic Adept on an Eldritch Knight without any problems. Have you checked if you can add the feat to any other character? You'll also want to make sure that you've either purchased the content, or are having it shared via a campaign (someone in the campaign has the content, and the DM of the campaign enabled content sharing). If you're receiving the content via content sharing then you need to be creating your character within the appropriate campaign (if you create the character under My Characters then you'll only see content you've unlocked yourself).
Finally, if you viewed the feats list before unlocking the content, then there can sometimes be a delay before you see it updated; usually no more than 20 minutes. This applies to the equipment list, spells and extras as well, as the results are cached somehow.

ive added the new fighter’s fighting style options to my character. but when i select the new fighting style options it still doesn’t add them to the list. i’ve tried restarting the tab, deselecting the option and going into the character sheet, and maybe will have to delete the whole character and try again. is there any solution for this? thanks
Fighting Style - Superior Technique. Not functional. We don't currently have a sensible way of implementing the selection of maneuvers that wouldn't cause characters to become broken in the future. We're working on a solution for this known issue.
It's been quite a while since this has post has been up, is there still not a fix for this?
I have enabled the Primal Awareness additional class feature for a sixth level ranger, but when I go into my spells only Speak with Animals will show up. When I click on Speak With Animals and then click into Primal Awareness, it only shows that Speak With Animals is useable, even though 5th level should unlock Beast Sense.
Speak With Animals is available for free from the Basic Rules; Beast Sense is from the Player's Handbook. Do you have access to the PHB on this site, either through purchase or campaign sharing?
Yup! I have personally purchased the spell list from the PHB.
I'm having the same issue here in 2022. I have purchased the Player's Handbook and Tasha's on DnDBeyond, gone in to the Optional Features Manager and checked the check box for Primal Awareness, and do in fact see an option for Speak With Animals (subtitled as a Primal Awareness-enabled spell) as a once-a-day spell in my 5th-level Ranger character sheet, but Beast Sense does not show up as an option. Any perspective on this--a workaround that will give me the once-per-long-rest check box for the spell, or an ETA on having the PHB spells in the Ranger's Primal Awareness table show up in the character sheets?
It works fine for my ranger. Go here and check at the top to make sure your entitlements are in sync. It'll either say they are or there'll be a big black button to push, which might fix it. Also on that page make sure that you purchased the PHB spells on that account (sometimes people accidentally end up with 2 accounts due to the multiple login options).
1st-level spells from feats like Shadow Touched don't seem to be working exactly correctly. The text of the feats indicates you get one use from the feat, and also that you can cast the spell with spell slots of the appropriate level. I'm getting the ability to "use" the free casting from the feat, but not the ability to "cast" with a spell slot.

That's a general problem with all feats; once you've used your free use, you just need to mark off spell slots using the appropriate boxes under the Spells tab. Unfortunately this means you also can't see the levelled up version(s) of the spells to quickly refer to the correct number of damage dice etc.
It's tough to say that it's definitely a bug; while the UI certainly could allow for "casting" the free spell as if it were a spell known, it's giving you your one free use at 1st/2nd level which is the crucial part, since you can do the rest manually with the existing tools.

I'm not seeing the bard subclasses when I'm creating a character. Specifically College of Eloquence isn't populating in the subclass options. I bought this book twice (once as a gift the other for myself) with a master membership. (not complaining just trying to give context for the issue) Also I'm still trying to learn the system.
College of Eloquence was originally published in MOoT, so you'll need to have the Magic: the Gathering preference enabled (red/right) in order for it to show up on your character sheet.
I just reach level 6 in my Circle of Spores druid, but the damage of my Halo of Spores is still 1d4 in my attacks
I've tried to find a way to modify this without success.
That's odd; I just tested by upgrading my 3rd-level Spores Druid to 6th-level and it worked as expected.
Apologies if it's silly to ask, but you aren't multiclassed into anything else are you? You need a full six levels in Druid specifically before you get the extra damage, it's not based on character level like cantrips are.

When will you update Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul so that you can swap out any of the spells that you gain from that subclass for free.

Access to the Beast Sense spell for Primeval Awareness is no longer showing up for my Ranger. It is also blank when I try to edit my character sheet.
