Under the new rules: "You may keep as many magic items as you are awarded but must limit the number of magic items you bring on an adventure based on the table below." There is no longer any guidance on Artificer Infusions being separate from this rule. Is the intention seriously to limit the Artificer's core feature if you're at your magic item limit? Sure I can share items with my party, but if everyone is at their limit then the main feature of the class is pointless...
Has anyone seen anything on this? I can't find anything...
Artificer infusions do not count against the magic item limit. However, the only source I have for that is a post by the AL admins (Amy) in the al-rules-compendium forum on the D&D official discord. Hopefully, it will be explicitly included in a future document revision.
I found that too - but it's also from last season! Frustrating lack of clarity, but at least we have some indication of designer intent...
Yeah, there's always some minor (though important in some cases like yours) stuff that is left out. I'd have the last season's text at the ready just in case some DM that is unfamiliar with it asks. I have a lot of rulings from earlier seasons written down for my Beastmaster that helped out DMs a couple of times.
P.S.: I've found this (below) in the D&D Discord #al-rules-compendium
