Lets say there was a Dragon in a field and the Druid had cast spider climb on himself. Could he use the spider climb to "stick" to the dragon and climb onto it's back? Is it only useable on inanimate walls or similar? Similar thought to use it to stick to a horse etc?
RAW, the "sticky feet" part of the Spider Climb explicitly allows you to walk on surfaces ("vertical surfaces and upside down on ceilings"). Creatures are not surfaces.
However, the spell also gives you a climb speed, and climbing can always be used for things like this at the DM's discretion. I'd say it's sensible to give advantage on Athletics or Animal Handling checks to hang onto a moving creature or mount.
