Howdy gang, I'm building a druid for a campaign for the first time and am running into what seems to be a rather common questions with a few different interpretations. The description of wildshape has this to say about classes and feats for wild shaped creatures:
You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so. However, you can’t use any of your special senses, such as darkvision, unless your new form also has that sense.
This makes sense for several purposes, like if you have the grappler feat. If you're wild shaping into a moose, you lack the hands or other body part to be able to properly grapple the target. I also saw this thread here, which discusses the RAI and RAW interpretations of more global rules such as tough, where they affect the character's base stat block, but not the creature's as the creature itself lacks character levels, and the intent is to always be on the base character and not any assumed forms. My question is more of an extension on that, regarding the mobile feat. The mobile feat grants 10 feet of additional movement as well as a few extra additional features. More to the point, I noticed how when adding wild shape forms to the character block, it would calculate most stats as intended, but intentionally don't include the mobile feat's extra movement speed.
So... does the feat mobile add extra speed to a wildshaped form?
I don't think there is a RAW. But if you ask me, it should work... I mean, Druid in general and mainly the moon have a hard time getting itens or feats that work with Wildshape, and that can be a little frustrating for the players. So whenever I see an "gray area" that make sense and is balanced to be used on WS, I tend to say "go for it".
I'll quote a rule concerning 'Wildshape' from the Basic Rules Source:
"You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them if the new form is physically capable of doing so. However, you can’t use any of your special senses, such as darkvision, unless your new form also has that sense."
According to my limited understanding, the 'Mobile' feat is a benefit that is derived from 'Other Sources'. So, it is acceptable.
Maybe a little late to the party, but according to RAW, neither Tough nor Mobile's speed boost should apply during Wild Shape:
Your game statistics are replaced by the statistics of the beast, but you retain your alignment, personality, and Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. You also retain all of your skill and saving throw proficiencies, in addition to gaining those of the creature. If the creature has the same proficiency as you and the bonus in its stat block is higher than yours, use the creature’s bonus instead of yours. If the creature has any legendary or lair actions, you can’t use them.
Both the Tough feat and the Mobile feat alter your statistics, which then are replaced by those of the beast.

But as a DM, I might actually rule otherwise...
This is an incorrect statement because its premise is that the feats only affect your statistics and not that of the wild shape beast. Feats affect both. Tough doesn't give you any benefit for wild shape because Tough works based on character level. "Your hit point maximum increases by an amount equal to twice your level when you gain this feat. Whenever you gain a level thereafter, your hit point maximum increases by an additional 2 hit points." Beasts don't have character levels, hence tough provides no benefit.
The mobile feat works whether you are in normal form or wild shape form. It increases your speed by 10. If your normal speed is 30 and your wild shape speed is 50, your normal speed becomes 40 and your wild shape speed becomes 60.

When I’m the DM it does. It’s a full feat after all, that’s an expensive item since you don’t have very many of them.
