All of this conversation and debate about Backgrounds in 5th edition 2024 prompted me to write my own book. Initially I did it for my own game, but I ended up publishing it it on DM Guild!
I think it turned out really well, its all about expanding the concept of Backgrounds and giving it more narrative flare. Super proud of it, I don't normally publish stuff.

Yes I have. Most of these are actually inspired and based on story backgrounds players wrote for their characters in my games over the years.

Ah cool. That is Aaron Reeds book right? He does a lot of cool albeit "out there" stuff." Great writer and designer.
Yeah, it's a lot of fun. he just came out with downcrawl 2E (even has solo play). havent tried downcrawl.
