I have an epic adventure laid out for the aftermath of the Lost Mines of Phandelver. The young green dragon Venomfang that the party faced off against in Thundertree is very mad at them for driving him out and looting his hoard. However, during the fight he managed to one-shot one of the players with his breath weapon and a nat one death save. Recently he went on a rage raiding wagon caravans, and stumbled across a crystal ball of mind reading that was being transported to Neverwinter. He was mad because one of the things in his hoard was a key to an ancient vault of treasure rumored to contain an item of great power. He then rushed to the location with the crystal ball and began learning how to use it. He raided nearby arcane librarys for tomes and scrolls, learning the art of wizardry and sorcery, seeking to master the Arcane Arts. He has made many preparations, included in This google dock. The thing is that he has revived the dead party member in his service. anyways, as they complete their current plot thread in DotMM, he will have put out a bounty on their heads, and thats where it picks up. anyways, the point is that I need help making this rhyme! (or at least make it sound good!)
Fortune Tellers Riddle:
A darkness is coming to shadow the land,
A darkness is coming to claim your soul
A darkness is coming to claim vengeance grand
For battles lost long ago
First step lies in verdant deep, calling, waiting, watching.
Then comes Betrayal from friends closest of all
Lead by foe with Crystal gaze watching, waiting, scheming
Ever pulling strings to bring your downfall
Five Trials will come to pass
Each one harder than the last
Each one made to test your blade
Should you succeed legends will be made
First trial is Trial of Trust
Those you thought to be your friends
Will work together to bring your end
Trust no one but each other
And you may just survive.
Second trial will be the Trial of Loyalty
Bonds will be strained, faith will be tested
One of your own will turn against you
Be careful, for they are not who you think
Trial number three will be the Trial of Might
Mighty foes scheme against you, hunting you,
But with Strength of Bonds and strength of arm
The hunter may yet become the hunted
Fourth trial will be the Trial of Heart
The combat begins, the drums will start
Long battles will be fought, resolve will be tested
Never give up and follow your heart
The turned may not be so turned after all
Hardest of all will be the Trial of the Mind
Through twisting tunnels you will descend
Your Will shall be tested, your Mind shall be tried
As you approach your journeys end
On the path ahead these Trials will wait
For you to go forth and meet your fate
A perilous foe stalks before you
The Emerald Dawn is coming to collect what is due!

I can only do two right now so here is the first thing that pops into my head.
Darkness is here for debts
It takes shadows of the land
for an untold story of the land
for the generation to tell
Locked behind eye and ears
A lie among them all
A fiend see it through

I'm sorry if it isn't that good

Fortune Tellers Riddle:
A darkness is coming to shadow the land,
A darkness is coming to claim vengeance grand
A darkness is coming to claim your soul
For battles lost long ago
The First step lies in verdant deep that is Mystical
Lead by foe with gaze of Crystal
Comes Betrayal from friends closest of all
Ever pulling strings to bring your downfall
Five Trials will come to pass
Each one harder than the last
Each one made to test your blade
Should you succeed legends will be made
Trust is the First Trial
Think smartly for your survival
Those you thought to be your friend
Will work together to bring your end
Second trial will be the Trial of Loyalty
Bonds will be strained with Cruelty
One of your own will turn against you
and they'll come out of the blue
Trial number three will be the Trial of Might
Great foes scheme against you in spite
But with Strength of Bonds and Arms fronted
The hunter may become the hunted
Fourth trial will be the Trial of Heart
The combat begins, the drums will start
Long battles will be fought, resolve will be tested
Follow your heart and you won't be bested
The turned may not be so turned after all
Hardest of all will be the Trial of the Mind
Through twisting tunnels you will descend
Your Will shall be tested, your Mind shall ascend
As you approach your journeys end
On the path ahead these Trials will wait
For you to go forth and meet your fate
A perilous foe stalks before you
The Emerald Dawn is coming to collect what is due!
redid it, is it ok?
thanks! it really does help, and I know how hard it is!
My 2cp attempt, its not great and the cadence of the first half is ripped from the poem Jerusalem by William Blake:
Wings that flew in ancient time,
Fly across mountains green,
The child of a Dragon God,
Over vistas and pastures seen!
Scale and Claw, a prophecy divined,
Flying forth, Vengeance to find,
Seeking, ravenous, a plot refined,
Covetous, jealous a Dragons Mind.
Bring forth my hoard, brimming gold,
Caste down your heroes and desire,
Lay down your weapons, lest my Wings unfold!
Behold your doom and emerald Sire!
It will not cease its monstrous flight,
Nor shall its quest sleep in its mind,
Till its hoard returned, the land it blights,
Heroes gather, an old friend they find.
Claws outstretched,
The trials begin,
Each one hides,
A truth within,
The heroes together,
In friendship bound,
A mighty roar,
A challenge to sound.
Trial the first,
Trust and betrayal,
Trail the second,
A loyal portrayal.
Trial the third,
A Strength of arms,
Trial the forth,
A removal of charms.
Trial the fifth,
Hardest to see,
Twisting and turning,
The darkest finale.
thank you so much, this helps a lot! every bit helps.
