So reading over Divine Contention, I really love the idea of the "Leilon Besieged" quest, but I'm a bit confused on two parts. First is during part 13 of the siege, it says that if the party has fewer than 3 victories, Claugiyliamatar just sort of... leaves? So they basically skip step 13 and jump right to part 15 then? And then it specifies that Claugiyliamatar only has 192 hit points during the events, which is fine. It then says later on in the Ebondeath Masoleum that if Ebondeath escaped the battle while still controlling Claugiyliamatar, then the party must face the green dragon and THEN face Ebondeath after, which is brutal on it's own. My question is does Claugiyliamatar have their FULL 384 hp during this fight or are you meant to use the reduced 192 again?
For your first question- Claug… I’m just going to call her Gnawbone :)… leaves because she found the ruinstone which was her reason for attacking the town. For more info on the ruinstone, see Thalivar’s Beacon. I really like this because she’s not just a mindless destruction object- she has a purpose and once she’s completed it she doesn’t need to sack the town. If your characters, like mine, didn’t complete Thalivar’s Beacon, then they will have no idea why Gnawbone just left. A briefing from the tower wizard should explain it to them just fine.
For your second question, yes she would be at full health, (if she has enough time to rest) since the 192 hps was because of damage from the town defenders and the Swords of Leilon. I agree facing them both is extremely brutal, and I might rule that Ebondeath dies with her, or needs time to reform. I really hope my characters defeat her in the siege, but that’s next session, so we’ll see what happens!
Leilon besieged is honestly the greatest thing that has ever happened in my life. Facing old gnawbone and ebondeath would be hard too but maybe balanced if the players played Dragon of icespire peak and acquired Dragon slayer. Maybe ebondeath dies if gnawbone does, because in leilon besieged he ditches Gnawbone's body when claugiliamatar reaches 50 hp.
When you thought you knew about spellcasting - you played a warlock
Why are most bard colleges a pain to type? I mean bard college of valor, compare to champion or evoker. Same goes for sacred oaths: paladin oath of devotion. That's even worse.
I don't think WoCE were very creative with the rogue and ranger subclass titles. I mean ranger archeotype? Roguish archeotype? Bro! Fighters are better but still is somewhat unsatisfying compare to a monastatic tradition or sacred oath.

Also don't forget the cult of talos will have beaten up ebondeath pretty hard.

Only spilt the party if you see something shiny.
Ariendela Sneakerson, Half-elf Rogue (8); Harmony Wolfsbane, Tiefling Bard (10); Agnomally, Gnomish Sorcerer (3); Breeze, Tabaxi Monk (8); Grace, Dragonborn Barbarian (7); DM, Homebrew- The Sequestered Lands/Underwater Explorers; Candlekeep
