So my friend asked me to make the Dragon of Tyr cause they couldn’t find a stat block for one online and supposedly it’s rumored to be like the bbeg of stranger things season 5(I don’t watch personally but please don’t hate)and I’m making them really really powerful. I think I would use them as an omnipotent being who kinda is like the wise old dude who only tells the heroes what they need to know and is eventually killed or something by the bbeg of the campaign in a massive kaiju fight. So I’m just wondering if it’s ok if I make the stat block kinda op-ish. I don’t usually make my own statblocks and all advice is helpful:)
The Dragon of Tyr in D&D is a creature from Dark Sun, and based on his power in prior editions is probably upper 20s CR (there are two homebrew writeups on DDB). How that relates to Stranger Things is... not clear.
Anyway, overwhelmingly powerful creatures tend to be more flavor text than something you need a stat block for and are generally something you should keep in the background to avoid stealing attention from the PCs, but are not something you should never include.
