i'm trying to fully convert kingmaker for 5ed and i found a problem with realm management with the updated rules. Updated Rules go well with the 5ed but when it comes to magical objects create confusion. The 5th in fact does not have a system of buying and selling items, and the kingdom management rules instead include buildings that increase the level of the magical items available (common in pathfinder 2). Has anyone found a way to handle this? Thanks!!!
There are magic item tables for level ranges in the DMG. You could have a building that is your “Magic Item Shop” which populated items based on your players level ranges. You can flavor it as there’s an artificer/wizard making the items or that someone trading capital for “items of power” to resell to your players.
i think those levels are as follows:
0-4
5-10
11-16
17+
i played Kingmaker years ago so everything is fuzzy but my go to with magic items in 5e are: They can be made; it’s rare but there are people who are able to craft them. They can absolutely be “found” in dark corners of the world. Or you do some research to find a historical entity which might have had an item fitting that description and go on a quest to find said item.
Hope this helps.
