I'm currently considering running SOTDQ for a potential new group but I want to iron out anything in advance before I even bring the idea to them. What info can i give to someone whos never even heard of Dragonlance so they can at least enjoy the things that happen?
There’s a moderate amount of background info about the geography and history of Krynn presented at the start of the book which seems designed to be shared with players. That’s probably enough to get them up to speed.
If they’re keen for more background (without real spoilers) there is the original novel trilogy (Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Winter Night and Spring Dawning).
I suspect SelkirkDraws might be being tongue in cheek, but I don’t think a Kender should cause real problems. We have a Kender Paladin in our party; the “problem” character is a High Elf Evoker, in terms of relative power.

Ban kender. Other than that should be good 😅
