So im running lost mines of phandelver for some friends of mine and they are going thru the redbrands hideout. They are about to go into the crypt where the skeletons are and i thought it would be fun to have the skeletons ask the players a riddle to pass thru the room. I want the answer to be either "glass staff" or "redbrands" but i cant think of any good riddles to match it. Any riddle masters out there?
I'm no Master Riddler, but I'll at least throw my hat in the ring...
One hand to walk with me Two hands to fight with me To the touch I am smooth and hard You see through me clearly Cast spells right through me I am the Wizard's right hand
Remember it's always harder to solve riddles in the moment, and the goal isn't to challenge the players, but to make them feel smart! So let it be obvious to you, and it'll be about perfect in game.
For Redbrands, maybe something like:
Their first part's the color of blood and of flame/Their second, hot metal to mark or to maim/Put both parts together and give us the name/Of the cads with whom Glasstaff now follows his aim.

A fairly short and simple one...
What is it that is cool to the touch of the owner, but burns and scars the owned?
A Red Brand.
