I have this adventure taking place, and I would like some ideas on social encounters or something that isn't going to be summed up as another combat encounter. Do you guys have any suggestion?
There're plenty of opportunities to have social encounters that can still add tension and intruige, without being combat encounters. A heated argument with a soothsayer that's worrying the local villagers; an auction for a peice of the map your party desperately needs - but the wealthy collector is in the room, and isn't backing down; the bandit den you need to infiltrate are hosting a game of dice; you have a ship - but you need to recruit a crew from a limited selection of low-lives and ruffians...
It'd be helpful to know where these social encounters are taking place though, to provide ideas.

Right sorry, I'm looking for something that is there just for the sake of making travel interesting, or encounters during downtime.
There's a good thread on this: here
