Hi. I haven't run a campaing in several years and recently started playing again. I'm currently running HotDQ and I have a question regarding treasure. My players have found the treasure detailed in the campaign, at least until chapter four, to be a little scant by their expectations. Should I award standard treasure by encounter or just run by the book? Is this exclusive of 5e's first adventures or is it commonplace among published material? Thank you for your replies.
Some published adventures are light on loot while others run a bit heavy. If your friends want more stuff and you are okay with upping the treasure to meet their needs, it will be okay.
