I have recently acquired the set of core rules for the 5th edition. I am going to be DM after many years of not playing. My players will not have so much time, but sessions of 3 hours are going to be ok. As first option, I set my eyes on Eberron as a setting . So, my question: where do I get good adventures of the right size and for the first levels? Any suggestions? I have seen there is a large module set in the city of Sharn, but I am a little intimidated because I have no experience in managing the game in a big city (maps, descriptions, movements and so on).
Sadly, there is only the core Wayfinders Guide to Eberron available in 5th edition. You say you have found a large module set in Sharn, but are you sure that isn't the 3.5 accessory? Check this list to be sure.
One option is to look at 3.5 and 4e modules and adapt them to 5th. The 3.5 Eberron Campaign Setting had a nifty level 1 adventure set in Sharn you could expand upon, and it along with any other module set in Sharn would give pointers on how to manage a large, city-wide campaign. I also recommend just looking to the old core books and modules in general, especially because I feel the WGtE is lacking in so much lore found in the 3.5 Eberron Campaign Setting, not to mention other sourcebooks.
I think pretty much all the published adventures are in Forgotten Realms. Salt marsh may be in Greyhawk, technically (I don’t quite remember), but can be ported to other places. Also, there’s lots of dislike pointed at the Horde of the Dragon Queen, so you might want to avoid that one.
Thanks everyone! I have a plan now, at least for the beginning. I will take a small dungeon adventure from somewhere else and bring it into Eberron. I will then slowly build my own campaign, and use Eberron specific new stuff as it comes out for the 5th edition.
