I recently got a new iPad and I'm sure there's a plethora of apps. In addition to the D&D Beyond app, what apps can you recommend for DMing when it comes to note taking, maps, running encounters and general stuff?
I find it fits my needs very well. The source is available on github (https://github.com/cynicaloptimist/improved-initiative) so you can download and run your own copy if you're comfortable with node.js applications. I like to run a copy locally so I can update on my own schedule and don't have to rely on network access, but if you're using the website directly you can export and import whatever custom statblocks you're using so you have your own copy of your data.
Patreon supporters can store data persistently as well, and get some extra features to customize the look of the UI (which you can also do if you want to go to the trouble of building and running your own copy).

I just us DDB. Everything else, like maps, music, notes are on paper or other devices.
DDB is plenty flexible enough for my needs - rules, monster stats pages, etc.

Hm... Improved Initiative looks interesting.
WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
