Thanks! They are meant to represent the players journey through a campaign. There is a checked line running all the way around and all the images are from map legends
Yes just a wooden case lined with foam and a sheet of polycarbonate over the top so I can use felt markers. I have a chromecast hooked up to the tv. I cast my desktop to the chromecast and have the maps in a PDF in sequence
awesome. Could probably do something like that with a bulky apple TV as well if you're on the mac side... not as elegant in terms of space, but way more integrated. None-the-less, brilliant idea

I'm not too worried, it's an LED lcd. There is quite a bit of air space in the case and this particular tv has an ac adapter similar to a laptop and so that keeps alot of the heat down. Last session was about 6 hours and I did t notice any heat
I know this is an old post, but I'm considering building something like this too, and have been doing some research. If you use a case like this and it's on top of (as opposed to set into) the table, does it take up so much room that there's no where for players to set things on the table? That's my biggest concern in this approach. That and if the map is a pain to view if it's a few inches off of the table as opposed to at the same level.
I love the wood burning design! This is awesome even after all this time your art work gives me good inspiration for when I make a wood case. This world needs more custom D&D maps keep up the great work!!!

How were the designs applied to the wood, ink, wood burning, etc?
The designs were wood burned in
Interesting, is this just a woodbox that sets over top the monitor?

The wood burning looks fantastic, I applaud you *applauds*
Looks great my dude, wood burning kit was the last birthday gift I got for my girlfriend haha
So what feeds the screen? Are you just attaching it to a pc/laptop at the table? is it permanently on the table? etc

I think he said he is chromecasting his laptop to it.
Ya there is a chrome cast that is poweredby the USB on the tv. Very simple! My favorite is using the animated battle maps from dynamic dungeons on it

Also, how does it handle the heat? Presumably it builds up some significant heat and its all covered up and lying on a table.
