I bought all the spell card sets for 5e just before a huge wave of new content came out. I use this site to build a PC and with it, I have access to virtual versions of everything (bought it all) and because of that, I have access to all the new spells that came out and got changed; such as Eldritch Blast being changed and Mind Sliver and Silvery Bards being new. Because of these updates and new additions my spell cards I purchased are not updated or there are no cards for the new spells. I've resorted to writing a summary of the new spells on a piece of notebook paper that I tore and shaped to put in my spellbook (card holder).
The point of me posting here is to ask for advice.
As the thread title suggests, I'm wondering if there is a way to make my own spell cards that will fit all the spell info? Do I need to buy the materials needed? if so, where can I buy it? What's the best format? and finally, Is there a non-glossy card I can get so ink won't smear and pencil can actually write on it? (I'm out of the blank spell cards I got from the packs)
Might I suggest using card stock or a high weight paper (24-28lb), and print out your spell cards using the content from the DM or player manual. The formatting is only important to what you need, but I suggest to Google "Spell Cards DnD 5E" for inspiration that suits your need. There are actual free sites that have these already put together for you, you just have to upload, and print.
Print out the cards, and for roughly $20 on Amazon you can get a 13" Thermal Laminating Machine to put a protective cover on your card. Then you can just use Dry/Erase markers for marking on the cards when you need.

I am not sure what my Spirit Animal is. But whatever that thing is, I am pretty sure it has rabies!
I just printed these off stuck them to notecards and put them in card sleeves. It has almost all the official spells.
This is exactly what I was looking for! My daughter recently started playing with us, and this is the perfect way for her to see all her spells in one spot!
I would recomend spray coating the card stock after printing with a clear enamel or varnish. you can get clear spay paint cans of the stuff at most hardware stores (in the us anyway). It gets close to the card finish you get from playing cards if you do it right.
