Does anyone have any expertise, or knowledge about taking a map and having it printed (at like a FedEx or Kinkos) to a larger, 1 inch grid'ed, and either laminated or vinyl?
I have no experience at all and do not want to pay to learn (by making many mistakes)...
Hi there. I purchased a gridded clear vinyl product to use on the bed of my etching press to allow me to more accurately align printing plates and paper. It doesn't quite meet your specs as it has 1/2" gridded lines on it. I got it on Amazon. But might be a good starting point for finding a suitable similar DIY product? You could then have your map printed to the desired size and apply the gridded clear vinyl yourself. Good luck!
Side note: I discovered that the gridded lines came off when I cleaned the vinyl with an alcohol based cleaner! My solution was to cover it with clear Contact paper.

Thank you sir, that might be the way I go.
