So last year I got the crafting bug and came up with an idea to create a spellbook of sorts for my wizard.
Basically, I took a small tray, found a lid, covered it in fabric, strung two wires across the top horizontally, ran 9 wires vertically, beaded the 9 vertical wires to reflect spell points, used the middle wire to separate used spells from available ones (basically, a visual counter), and made a spell sheet to be placed under acetate on the insert. The acetate allows me to use an ultrafine dry erase marker to mark off which spells I have prepared. (and write in new spells on the fly, if it comes up.)
I've not seen this concept done anywhere else, but I love it for game play. the book also doubles as a dice try for my homemade dice tower.
you can find the imgur album that chronicled my build here: My imgur album
May the fate of the dice gods be with you. Nice work on the craft. I've never seen a dice tower to roll dice and the ability to grow the spell book in power with erasing and updating spells. Very nice Seameth.
You have inspired me to use my wax tablet to write down my Cleric Spells...might take some time and be a bit tedious though...I built a Wooden Book, with twine for the binding, with two facing layers of wax. I guess it is a Roman style wax book. Might be fun to try and use...

wow. depending on the type of cleric you're playing, that would be an awesome active prop! ^__^
It would definitely add a layer of genuine RP to prepping you're daily spell list. ^_~
