Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums and to DnD mini painting/creation. As it stands I want to inevitably work my way up to creating and painting one of my characters out of green stuff, which I'm very excited for! He's a Human Warlock under The Field path. So I'm planning on showcasing his ever-increasing demonic appearance in several minis. :)
I know completely fresh it's a long way to that point, but I do like to plan ahead. I'm starting to try and get ideas for the entire process but for those who are more knowledgeable than I am, I need some help!
In a couple of videos I've watched, a few of the people I've seen are using a table mat with measurements embedded into them. Since as far as I'm aware typically minis are 25-28mm tall, and with me working with green stuff in the distant future, I just want to have that on hand so I can keep consistent measurements. Also, what about tools? Ranging from sculpting and modelling to painting. I just want to get a rough price point and ideas for what's good and what's bad for painting minis.
All that being said, any tips for a beginner? I'm really looking forward to getting started, I just need to build up to that point. Thank you all for your time and responses. :)
