I run my campaign mainly via theater of the mind or I’ll put up the dungeon on my tv if the party has found a map. To run the encounters though I would like to use mini‘s. I’m thinking about using foam core to make a few rooms and hallways of various sizes that I can drop down on the table when needed for the encounter. I have one right now that’s 14x10in representing 70x50ft. What other sizes should I cut up though?
I’ve watched a few crafters. Most of what I’ve seen are modular, build an entire dungeon, setups. Right now I’m running Lost Mine of Phandelver with Dragon of Icespire Peak. A lot of the content is large maps but only a few fights. So far I’ve been building out an entire dungeon but, I’m only putting the minis down on it a few times. It’s been really time consuming and slowing down play. Thanks for the size recommendations. Having a few rooms pre-made that I can just drop and say roll initiative will hopefully speed things up.

2"x2", 4"x4", 6"x6", 2"x6"
People normally make smaller tiles then form a room.
I'm guessing you've watched all the popular dnd crafting tubers?
