I know this might be a weird request, given how many thread there seem to be about converting regular play to AL, but I've just downloaded a few AL modules for my (non-AL) group to go through, and I'm looking for any websites, charts, hints, tips, pointers, lost tomes or other divine inspiration that people know of for converting the AL ACP/TCP to regular XP/items playstyle. Before you ask "why?", I'm running my campaign in Eberron, and there seems little in the way of actual published 5e material for it, hence have now got the Echoes of the Last War arc.
1) All the monsters used in the modules are likely found in a resource that lists their CR and XP value. As a result you can just map combat encounters to XP the way it has always been done.
2) Non-combat encounters might be a bit more difficult but there are guidelines in the DMG. Usually you would base the XP reward on the difficulty or level of challenge involved (or if you avoid a combat encounter by smart tactics or use of social interactions then you should award the XP for the creatures bypassed.
3) You can use ACP as a proxy for XP ... awarding a character level/tier appropriate amount of XP at the end of the adventure depending on how long you played and how many goals the characters achieved. The characters don't need to know whether the XP awarded was based on a complicated calculation of monster and encounter XP or on a simple translation of ACP->XP based on the average party level. e.g. If in tier 1 and the module would have awarded 2 ACP, this is about 1/2 level then award about 1/2 level of XP for the average character level in the group. You could also use ACP as a proxy for milestones. If the party has been progressing towards the goals then you could have them level up as a milestone if they have accumulated enough ACP in your reckoning. Again, the players don't need to be aware of the details if you are using ACP as a proxy for milestones. However, if your players really want an XP number at the end of each session then I'd go with mapping ACP->XP based on average party level and the usual leveling requirements. (e.g. 4 ACP/level in tier 1 and 8ACP/level after that).
4) I think most of the season 8 modules still include gold and other treasure as well as magic items so I don't think adjustments are likely needed there. You just award what is found rather than TCP.
5) I think DMs guild might also have other Eberron modules though not necessarily AL that you could get ... though I haven't checked.
Wow, thanks! Plenty I can use there. I've got around 6 weeks before our next session (a couple of us work irregular weekends), so I've got the time to disect the modules and see what I can do with the above.
Should help loads!

Hi all,
I know this might be a weird request, given how many thread there seem to be about converting regular play to AL, but I've just downloaded a few AL modules for my (non-AL) group to go through, and I'm looking for any websites, charts, hints, tips, pointers, lost tomes or other divine inspiration that people know of for converting the AL ACP/TCP to regular XP/items playstyle. Thanks in advance,

There are likely several ways you can do it.
1) All the monsters used in the modules are likely found in a resource that lists their CR and XP value. As a result you can just map combat encounters to XP the way it has always been done.
2) Non-combat encounters might be a bit more difficult but there are guidelines in the DMG. David,
