I have a group of new players who want to be were-cats. I am a DM who has been playing for around 3 years, how should I create that race and does anyone have any ideas? A reply would be extremely appreciated.

There`s 2 ways I`m seeing this:

They want to turn into and out of cat form: create a homebrew shifter subrace

They want to permanently be a cat hybrid: take the Tabaxi stats and modify them to their needs.

I think they would like to be a sort of cat hybrid. I will take your advice about the tabaxi, and I will modify their stats.
