Looking to beef up the BBEG in this campaign; Nezznar the Black Spider. So far my players have been absolutely crushing all their encounters so I want this boss battle to take them to their limits, without TPK. I will have 4 level 4 players at the time of the final battle; Dwarf Cleric, High Elf Paladin, Firbolg Druid, Harengon Rogue. All players are intermediate. My Nezznar has a backstory tied to Arachnomancy hence "The Black Spider" name. So naturally I took Nezznar; The Black Spider stat block and blended it with a Drow Arachnomancer stat block. I should mention I would like leverage his transform ability to become a Drider in the end battle. But depends on how the encounter is going. Entirely different stat block but will keep it stock for a generic Drider. Perhaps adding the spider staff. Looking for feedback....
